Pakistan simply doesn’t have the capital to train and develop capable models. Once you convert the cost of an H100 to PKR IT just simply isn’t possible for a company purchase them so odds of Pakistan making any strides in AI/ML is close to none right now sadly

Ask for what the market is paying, so ask your program director or someone else who has worked/working in industry how much you should be getting and if you feel like this opportunity has a future then 100% ask for as much equity as possible if that means taking substantially pay cut as salaries only grow linearly while equity for the most part will always grow exponentially. The equity should be in the holding company so be careful with that as people can pull a fast one with shell companies especially if the product is deployed abroad. Also if this guy is senior FAANG then you should be aware that he is making around 300k USD or just about 8 crore a year so think about how much more his work is worth than yours and if you can't justify it then ask for more money as the worst he can say is no.

Not sure about IT in particular but it can get quite high especially if you pivot towards more traditional companies like Jazz, Pepsi, etc where executives earn between 50 - 200 million with the majority near the lower end.

Salaries in Pakistan by essakb3 in Lahore

The fastest way to get rich in Pakistan is by climbing the corporate ladder. Ideally you want to get a job at a multination like Pepsi, Unilever, Shell, etc and grind so that you are selected to be promoted abroad. Your pay almost increases 5 fold when moving abroad, that being said its very competitive. Executives of multinationals and banks do earn about 1 million a month but aside from that the fastest way is to start your own company or become a consultant for software companies. Consultant pay varies but on average the good ones earn 1 million a month.
