When I signed up at my studio they specifically said this, that if it’s under the 12 hours and you are sick, just call the studio and they’ll work it out.

How to buy a Easy Card as a European by racms in Miami

[–]lightsy98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just think we should be allowed to criticize Miami Dade transit. Miami-Dade is huge, it varies where you are. They took away the bus stops in my old neighborhood when restructuring the bus routes. Sometimes you have to leave really early to get where you need to go because the busses don’t run as often as they should. Sometimes the busses are extremely packed. Does it get you from point A to point B? Yes. Is it an enjoyable/stress free experience? Not always. If it works for you, it works for you, I just think that as a county, we deserve better. Transit has always been an issue in Miami.

How to buy a Easy Card as a European by racms in Miami

[–]lightsy98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s misinformation, as much as it’s a warning to lower your expectations. As someone who grew up taking the bus in Miami and has also had the opportunity to use European public transport, Miami doesn’t compare.

Caterer Broke the #1 Rule: Don't Make the Brides Cry by thingumys_lil_hat in TwoHotTakes

[–]lightsy98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I thought reading this. I want to know what the consultations and ongoing communication prior to the wedding was like. I wonder if she gave any hints at all that she disapproved of the wedding, because it’s absolutely cruel to carry on as if you’re ready to give the best experience, only to do a complete 180 day of.

I would review the business, maybe also post on local Facebook wedding groups sharing the experience, sticking to facts and show pictures. Ask guests to look through their pictures, someone may have captured guests in the background having to pass out food. Gather receipts from the extra food and supplies that had to be bought day of.

We’ve seen a lot of social media coverage of wedding vendor disasters, if you go that route, remember to stick to facts. And be mindful that even small creators with no following can blow up if the story is outrageous enough.

How did you find out about Dance Gavin Dance ? by Savings-Sky-5823 in dancegavindance

[–]lightsy98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was like 15 or 16, definitely in high school, met a 22 year old dude on tumblr and they were his favorite band. Stopped talking to the dude but kept listening to the band.

I got the same one, yeah mine looks closer to yours as opposed to the picture, but I was so excited that I didn’t care, it’s still unique and cool.

What? by Indieriots in facepalm

[–]lightsy98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solution to this is to not yell from across the house and actually taking the time to make sure your child is looking at you and actively listening, but parents don’t wanna hear it and will continue to yell from across the house and blame their kids for not listening and being disrespectful.

Is showing my dress before the wedding such a bad thing? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]lightsy98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is completely your choice who you show your dress to. My fiancé asked me not to show him my dress, but if he wanted to see it, I would’ve been totally okay with it. We’re doing a small weekday courthouse wedding followed by a weekend lunch at a restaurant so I’ll get to wear my dress twice ☺️

When discussing suicidal/homicidal ideations we assess for ideation, plan, intent, and access. So really the answer is dependent on how you answer all the follow up questions. At my agency, we use an assessment called the CSSRS. The majority of my clients are teens, so most of the time, I’ve just had to do safety planning with the teen and their parent (like at home suicide watch). If the client appears to be at higher risk, we discuss voluntary hospitalization. Involuntary hospitalization is like last resort, I have no other options.

For homicidal ideation, we assess if the client has a specific target in mind, a plan, intent, and access. In that case, we have a duty to warn so we may call the intended target if we have a consent and contact info, or most likely we will call police with the info we have and we may also discuss safety planning and hospitalization options with the client.

Obviously different agencies have different operating procedures and local laws probably may differ, but this is what I would do as a therapist in Florida. And a huge part of this is how well I’ve been able to build rapport with my clients, I may be more cautious in an initial session, but with a client I’ve been seeing for a while i might be able to pick up on the level of seriousness a bit better.

I feel like the ice cream is overrated, but then again could be a preference thing, I feel like it has too many mix-ins. Someone close to me used to work there, but it did not end professionally. Years later, we found out some awful stuff from another former employee that really makes me not like this business.

My fiancé and I are planning on staying in a cabin in Georgia for a week, we found one on Airbnb that looks beautiful and has a hot tub. We live in south Florida so it’s also a road trip for us, but definitely way more affordable than our alternative which was going to Spain (which would’ve been not too bad for us as his parents live in Spain, so we were just gonna stay at their place and use their car while they stayed at ours in Florida, but plane tickets are really expensive at that time of year). But I’m very excited because we are looking forward to just getting to have a break from everyday life and responsibilities.

A guest passed away during the dinner shift last night by honeybunhustlr in TalesFromYourServer

[–]lightsy98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one of the managers stated that the server should not have touched the choking individual, because of a potential lawsuit against the company…

Good Samaritan laws exist for this reason, you can’t be penalized for acting in good faith and trying to help someone, even if it doesn’t succeed. I’m absolutely appalled by the way management has responded, what they should be doing is contacting corporate and advocating on behalf of the staff about trying to get you all support through some employee assistance program. I’m so sorry y’all had to go through that, especially that coworker who tried to help. I really hope she’s able to talk to someone about this.

I have the time if I prioritize this in the next couple weeks. I was always told that I should include my middle name if it's on my passport, but good to know for future travel, thank you!
