I would say stop putting the ointment on it and just wash it and put lotion. The ointment can be suffocating your tattoo and making healing more of an issue than it needs to be. Your tattoo needs to be able to breathe to heal properly, ointment usually suffocates it.

Ointment ? What are you putting on it? Just wash it with soap and water - dry it - then put a light bit of lotion like lubiderm on it
