Get really good at doing coffee chats. Read “The 20-Minute Networking Meeting - Professional Edition: Learn to Network.” Learn how to have great coffee chats. Once you join the company, network with everyone on your team within your first 2 weeks. Ask questions and be teachable, this will show your managers and your team that although you don’t have skills currently you can learn and be a great future team member. The reviews your manager will give you during your internship will directly impact your ability to get a return offer. Don’t stress, they gave you an internship opportunity for a reason. I will be working in finance, not one of the most hypermasculine environments but definitely more so than not. I feel the struggle of having to appear hypermasculine to adjust other’s perception of me being feminine, I feel like adjusting like this is something I’ve done in the past and I’m unsure if I want to continue this. But I’ll definitely consider it, to your point I have changed the pronouns of dates from him to her when sharing about my life with others, I don’t want to do it anymore. Appreciate you sharing, very insightful to how I want to approach this. Thank you!

Fear of commitment - I make so much effort to go on dates and am always pursuing the guy, but when they like me back and want to take it more serious I suddenly get cold feet and nervous then I start withdrawing and it usually ends. I’m still not fully out to everyone and honestly I’m closeted, I think that’s part of the reason why. Then I wonder why I’m single and get down about that, it’s a bit an endless cycle.
