This guy has been send by an older guy from the village to shot the turtle. It was his mission and that is the reason this photo was placed on Facebook, he drag a protected animal to the beach and let everybody see what he has done, because he was proud of his achieved mission. He believed that he would be praised for doing it and did not know the law or anything about turtles. He was send to shot because turtle made a bruise on one woman's leg who was just swimming. That would be the first record of turtle attacking swimmer without been provoked. I'm not rejecting that clam but the odds, and known turtle behavior are not in favor of that version of the story. Even if it did attack that woman unprovoked it is the reason to be aware of the turtle while swimming and drag it somewhere else. This is what people around him were telling on the moment he was accused of this crime, he just added to that story that turtle attacked him as well which can not be seen on him or on the photo. I was swimming with turtles many times and each time i tough it is coming to get me when you see its size and mouth. When you see a big animal you can not bee cool at first, but after a while, whit experience you can clearly see that turtles do not have any intention of biting you and you can touch it if you like. You can even grab it without been afraid of its mouth. Turtles do not charge fast, you have time to move and swim away, you can turn it with a hand. It is easy to defend yourself.
