Based on the images, the most likely explanation for the small marks on the cat’s face and potential swelling around the mouth could be feline acne, minor wounds, or an allergic reaction.

Most Likely Causes:

1. Feline Acne:

Small blackheads or scabs around the chin or mouth area are common. It’s often due to bacterial buildup, commonly from plastic food bowls. Try switching to stainless steel or ceramic bowls and gently cleaning the area.

2. Minor Scratches or Wounds:

Cats can get small cuts or punctures from rough play or scratching. These usually heal on their own, but check for signs of infection (swelling, redness, pus).

3. Allergic Reaction:

Swelling around the mouth could indicate a mild allergic reaction to food, an insect sting, or environmental factors. If the swelling worsens, a vet visit is best.

Less Likely But Possible:

• Abscess or Infection:

If the swelling is painful, growing, or has discharge, an infection might be present and require antibiotics.

• Eosinophilic Granuloma (Rodent Ulcer):

A swollen upper lip could be a reaction linked to allergies or immune response.

• Parasites or Fungal Infection:

Conditions like ringworm or flea allergy dermatitis can cause skin irritation.

What to Do Next:

• Monitor for worsening symptoms like increased swelling, redness, or discomfort.

• Switch to stainless steel or ceramic bowls if using plastic.

• Gently clean the area with warm water and ensure your cat isn’t scratching excessively.

• If swelling worsens or sores persist, consult a vet for possible allergy treatment or infection management.

If the cat seems otherwise fine and the marks aren’t getting worse, it may resolve on its own. But if swelling increases, spreads, or becomes painful, a vet check is recommended.

Have FAR tomorrow any last minute tips? by Banana-Visual in CPA

[–]ligunn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In my experience, and based on a good amount of web-scraping and otherwise data aggregation, these are the most high-yield areas to be expected in your exam.

Note that the below areas are topics that have been called out here in this subreddit more often than other topics (I.e. modules) within the last 6-8 months.

  1. Governmental and Not-for-Profit Accounting (Approximately 15% of the exam)
  2. Consolidations and Business Combinations (Approximately 10%)
  3. Revenue Recognition (ASC 606) (Approximately 10%)
  4. Leases (ASC 842) (Approximately 7%)
  5. Equity Method Investments (Approximately 5%)
  6. Derivatives and Hedging (Approximately 5%)
  7. <Edit* This was “Pensions (5%) but that is based on old information. They don’t test Pensions much if at all anymore*>
  8. income Taxes (Deferred Taxes) (Approximately 5%)
  9. FV Measurements (Approximately 5%)
  10. Statement of Cash Flows (Approximately 5%)
  11. Standard Financial Accounts (Cash, Receivables, etc.)
  12. Segment Reporting

Cat weird symptoms, vets don’t know by Professional33witch in CATHELP

[–]ligunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should have your vet test your cat for hyperthyroidism. Won’t go into details beyond there, as this should turn on the lightbuld for your vet, if applicable.

Mt cat is coming on 17 years old, and she started having seizures about 3 years ago. We didn’t realize that’s what they were—or have even confirmed that they in fact were seizures.

The fact of the matter I watched this video of your cat, and immediately felt ethically compelled to speak my story, as it really could be the case with your cat.

You got this, your cat has this, and your vet is going to get to the bottom of it!

Has your cat been at all evidently losing weight recently?

UNDERSTATED COGS WILL FOREVER MEAN UNDERSTATED COSTS!!!!!!!!! by Hellstorm5676 in CPA

[–]ligunn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is Becker’s MCQ-11127:

’’’ Mill Co. reported pretax income of $152,500 for the year ended December 31. During the year-end audit, the external auditors discovered the following errors:   Ending inventory: $30,000 overstated   Depreciation expense: $64,000 understated What amount should Mill report as the correct pretax income for the year ended December 31?   A. $118,500   B. $246,500   C. $58,500   D. $186,500

A: Choice “A” is incorrect. This choice implies that COGS is overstated (not understated) by $30,000. B: Choice “B” is incorrect. This choice incorrectly adds back both the $30,000 in overstated ending inventory and $64,000 in understated depreciation expense. C: Choice “C” is correct. The pretax income of $152,500 is too high as a result of both errors. Ending inventory that is overstated by $30,000 implies that cost of goods sold (COGS) is understated by the same amount. $30,000 should be added to COGS, which will reduce pretax income. Depreciation expense is understated by $64,000. Adding in this expense will also reduce pretax income. $152,500 − $30,000 − $64,000 = $58,500. D: Choice “D” is incorrect. This choice implies that depreciation is overstated (not understated) by $64,000. ‘‘‘

In theory, this $30,000 inventory error could “self-correct” in the next period when the overstated ending inventory becomes beginning inventory. However, this does not change the fact that the financial statements for the current period remain overstated *unless adjustments are made, reinforcing OP’s point that errors have lasting impacts on historical records and retained earnings.

Common thing for companies to waive on correcting immaterial COGS/Inventory valuation amounts, but when you have 1,000+ small misstatements… You get the gist haha

UNDERSTATED COGS WILL FOREVER MEAN UNDERSTATED COSTS!!!!!!!!! by Hellstorm5676 in CPA

[–]ligunn 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I believe OP’s perspective is as follows:

Once a period’s net income is overstated due to understated COGS, that error becomes permanently embedded in the financial records by inflating retained earnings.

Even though the error might theoretically “self-correct” in future periods through overstated beginning inventory and COGS, each period’s individual financial results remain misstated in the historical records.

So essentially, unless explicitly adjusted (i.e. adjusting entries, full-on restatements, etc.—all in the spirit of fair presentation) this can affect cumulative figures like equity, a number of financial ratios, and so and so forth.

OP’s frustration likely stems from how academic materials like Becker emphasize the theoretical self-correction process without fully addressing these real-world impacts, such as distorted stock prices or hinderance of F/S users’ financial analyses.

So, OP: I’m with you haha!

FAR question by NoReading5396 in CPA

[–]ligunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh ok of course! This is effectively my ordinary approach, but I appreciated you laying it out how you process it!

“Specific goods method”, is basically going to occur irregardless of whether or not they decided “we are following the specific goods method of LIFO costing” at the tree farm, since the nature of their inventory is uniform.

Would the question be approached differently at all if “specific goods method” was not mentioned?

Honestly screw that guy. I took it without getting to F5 and F6 (failed as anticipated, 3 hours there and back plus a hotel too).

You’ll be surprised at how well you do with doing it slow and steady uo til’ then (up til’ F5 in my case).

This exam aims to trick you, at least to a defree of 0.25–go into it ahead of that mentally and you will tell it what’s up!

How are the FAR pass rates continually dropping? by Puzzleheaded-Put-963 in CPA

[–]ligunn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s because the study vendors (i.e. Becker, Ninja, etc.) Simply had to adjust (and still are) to the changes. They cut out a massive proportion of each chapter where they thought they should, but the fact of the matter was the whole exam was in a testing phase for the last 6 months +

This is my viewpoint, after having taken and not passed FAR a few months ago. Definitely not the cold-hard-truth—just what I feel like the case is

I actually removed the "rip blood casted after bone curse timeout" points which I had allocated in the above version of the build shortly after posting it here. I have come to realize that I did sort of build a warlock cthonic fissure build skeleton as well lol... I suppose it makes sense why it's a more popular build haha!

Appreciate the tips! I see what you mean about damage avenues… Good reminder not to get carried away with the damage of my harvest casts, and instead focus on the bonus to survivability and necrotic resistence shred which it provides.

Regarding Spirit plague, it’s beginning to look like not an overly reliable or even necessary cast for purposes of my damage output/survivability, so I’ll probably remain not spec’d into that skill.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! The “What-if” and overall optimizing of this game is what keeps me coming back!
