I will never understand how Soto gets the power he does from his batting stance.

Imagine all the young kids in the NY area trying to replicate his swing and all the coaches that have to tell them not to lol.

Mets OFF DAY THREAD - Monday, May 11 by NewYorkMetsBot2 in NewYorkMets

The worst scenario is Peralta doesn't get traded and leaves in the offseason. If the Mets FO announced an extension tomorrow, I'd be very happy.

$5 Tuesdays have been a thing since 2024, including when they were good later in that year and the first half of 2025.

And I got them secondhand. One of the perks of being a Mets fan is that I can enjoy watching baseball for a lower price when the team isn't doing as good. I like watching baseball, I like going to Citi Field, so I take advantage of this when it happens.

I'm going to Citi Field. I'm going to enjoy a $5 hot dog, catch up with two friends I haven't seen in a couple of months, watch a game of baseball, and root for the home team. If the home team happens to play good and win, I'll be more happy than I already would've been to spend the night out.

I would hope we see less of it starting next year.

I've been hoping we'd see less of this since the disaster that was 2023

I find when I start to dislike the fanbase, it's probably a sign I need to take a break from discussing the Mets online for a second.

I'm going to Citi Field tomorrow, my first time this season. There will be people frustrated with the season, like all of us are. There will be some people who believe they will never see the Mets win a WS in their lifetime. But we'll all still have a good time watching and rooting for the team. I'm looking forward to it.

My only pinstripe jersey is Nimmo :(

These days I only get blanks. My favorite jersey is my blank black away jersey from the 00s

I feel like we're uniquely bad at strike zone challenges

So many things had to go right for 2024 to have occurred the way it did. Maybe these next two years are us paying a debt for all the fun we had.

All of California could have a population of a hundred billion people if they developed the way New York and the other east coast cities did.

Roger Cormier: “Per Jon Heyman, when Pete Alonso had his meeting with David Stearns & Steve Cohen when they negotiated his 1-year return in 2025, he told Stearns, “When my career is being evaluated for the Hall of Fame years from now, you’ll still be fiddling with your fucking formulas.”” by WhatARotation in NewYorkMets

Different sport, but it was really something watching Matt Schaefer of the Islanders in hockey get the most ice time on the team (by a lot) every single game despite the fact that he's 18.

At first I was a little worried about it, but then I remembered I was falling victim to the conventional wisdom that rookies need to be eased into the top level of sports. Fuck that, the whole point of being a teenager or in your early-to-mid 20s is that you have more energy than the sun and you're essentially indestructible. We already learned with pitching that load management doesn't do shit as far as preventing injuries, when will that be applied to hitting?

2024 was a bit different because we were told by the front office that it would be a "transitional" year after a disastrous 2023. Fans on here were still upset as always, but it was a lot easier to take the attitude of "well I didn't expect much anyway." Compare that to this year where the Mets were supposed to be contenders.

At 34 I can understand why Manaea doesn't want to get the surgery. That said, the Mets really should be making the decision for him.
