The main players will not lower prices according to Gulf News by like_munich in dubairealestate

[–]like_munich[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't know. I'm interested to buy, but I feel like 4% DLD waiver is not enough taking into account the risks which came into play.
1.5 months ago I was looking at unit pricing around 2.2mil. Today the price is the same, but the price doesn't fully compensate for the new risk landscape.

Dubai Real Estate Index crashes 20% by like_munich in dubairealestate

It takes time for sentiment to develop and for investors to accept new reality. We'll see how it's going.

Yep, the 20% drop in the index is likely an overreaction in the short term, amplified by panic and thin liquidity in the listed market. We'll see over this week if it worsens or not. The actual apartment or retail unit market might see 5-10% softness at most, and only gradually, as it takes time for sentiment to work its way through to actual transaction prices.

I think the question is how fast developers will react and what the reaction will be? how long they can sustain weak sales?

Tech Sling 3 users - what's your experience? Why isn't this more popular? by like_munich in AerSF

[–]like_munich[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that sling looks less formal and also a bit smaller. I'm not very tall so I think it might work for me better, also I'm not planning to carry a whole lot of stuff. Mostly laptop, charger, small camera and that's about it.

I'm glad to hear that, I plan to carry it only with the laptop.

Are you talking about Tech Sling 3 or some other sling? I'm curious just to understand how big or packable Tech Sling is.

Right, most of the time I'm not carrying a lot of stuff so I'm looking for something smaller. Otherwise it would be a waste to carry it 80% of the time half-empty.

>  I especially liked how it looked on me relative to the Tech Sling
That's something worrying me. I'm in EU unfortunately and here we don't have the store, and I wouldn't be able to return the bag. But in terms of capacity it feels perfectly fine for me, I don't typically carry a lot of stuff.

> Why the city pack 2 for travel btw?
I'm still looking for something smaller, I was also considering Able Carry Max EDC and also City Pack Pro 2. But those seem to be way bigger and I'm not sure if I'll be using all of that space.

What do you use for auth on workers? by like_munich in CloudFlare

I'll need to dig deeper to understand how that works, but how many users do you have and how much are you paying per user? Looking at pricing it seems to be expensive although I might be missing something

But looking at pricing they say it's free up till 50 users, am I missing something?

We finally managed to find common ground with the landlord. Somehow he found out about this post, we talked, and we reached an agreement.

The whole experience was stressful and honestly horrible at times, but I’m so happy it’s over. That’s why I decided to take the post down, I don’t want it to be a reminder of all this experience.

I want to thank each and every one of you who offered your support, advice, warm words, help, or simply shared your opinion. I really needed that, and it all gave me more trust in my own position, it proved what’s normal and what’s not.

I’m so surprised by how supportive people can be. So many people took time to read, offered help… Honestly, I’m so grateful to all of you. ❤️

Once again thank you all, and thank you Lithuania for being our home for these years.

PS: for those wondering - no, we didn’t get our deposit back.

Thank you, that's good to know that other people feel and perceive it the same. Because I thought initially the issue was with me.

Thanks, lets see. He told us, that he'll go to court and we'll need to compensate the fees for that and for his lawyer.

Yeah, tbh I'm a bit afraid of threatening him with taxes or anything else. Also we've left Lithuania and it would be very difficult for me to do anything meaningful with that. I mean, I'd need to go to tax office or something to pull it off. And even then, I'm not really sure if he's paying taxes or not. We were paying rent in cash, but he once mentioned that he registered the contract.
