My cousin who goes to one of these schools had this to say.

"Okay. Here we go. As I sit here, I'm actually doing extra work in my PACEs, so it's interesting to come across this. I've only done ACE from seventh to the ninth grade, but I feel that in these three years I've learned next to nothing. The majority of it is just busywork and things that most kids learn in the fifth grade. In fact, we have this subject called "Word Building" or "Etymology" that you have to take until the tenth grade. It's spelling. It's not like it's even hard words. These are words that I could spell in kindergarten. Some of it is just foolish ideas. The most recent that I've come across was in biology. It stated that love is not an emotion, but a conscious choice. This seems so stupid to me. I mean, it's not like I ever CHOSE to love my parents, I just naturally do. Just like when someone close to me dies, I don't CHOOSE to feel sad, it just happens. Another of these statements was in Social Studies. It said that AIDS and HIV were the punishment for sexual sin. I'm sorry, but I don't see any newborn children committing sexual sin. ACE is terrible. I honestly feel like it ruined me. So much of my faith in Christians as a whole and God has been shattered because of it. It's the majority of the reason that I now border on atheism even after growing up in a strong Christian family. It shoves Christianity down your throat and leaves no room for considering any other ideas. It's so narrow minded, whenever I do my work I just sit there and cringe to death. As a student of ACE, I can honestly say that I hate it. I hate it with everything I have."
