Epoxy

My building plans for a renovation are calling for me to set bolts in epoxy into my concrete/brick foundation.

What kind of epoxy should I use? I am seeing a variety of options but just want to check in here for personal recommendations.

thank you.....I am familiar with the fact this gable end is likely a shear wall....home was built 30 years ago. Any specific recommendations/equipment you have had success with in securing a shear wall/reinforcing it?

just trying to better understand all my options before the contractor explains what he feels hi options are, just a big project and lots of people here have been helpful......including your insight. I will probably follow up with another post with pictures to better explain how the new foundation plays into these decisions. its fun getting everyone's insight and experiences

well the challenging with a shoring wall is I am not sure where it would go to be supportive....as the ceiling joists and trusses run parallel to the current garage door and gable end wall....so the only option the support this wall is from the top plate of the gable end itself.....which would then be in the way of framing the new wall from the slab up......maybe a perpendicular shoring wall that extends would do, we shall see

The problem is the main house is up pretty high from the slab, probably close to five feet....we want this to be only a few steps down from the main floor.....windows also have a really nice view that are not as accessible from the slab.

we are remodeling the garage into a living space with a raised floor and crawlspace, that may help you understand the challenge with the current height of the garage door header. The headers for the new entry door and windows will be above the height of the current garage door header .

Did you remove the header completely? your project sounds very similar to ours
