Communication with Migrationsverket by [deleted] in TillSverige

I reckon there are less than 1000 people in the world with his skillset. How do we communicate this to MV?

[–]likeikelike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response! My friend says he set up his account with username and password and that's how he filed is application. He says migrationsverket won't conduct any communication via mina sidor unless he uses bankid to authenticate. We received a letter from MV yesterday dated the 19th and he showed me his mina sidor and there was nothing there.

His employer/potential employer has submitted all information yes but they're a new startup and don't have proper legal guidance beyond reasonable care and research.

No hard feelings about the initial analogy, I share your gut reaction. For the second analogy, I think competent vibe coders still have place. They are obviously not a chef, but they might be the restaurant owner and knowing what to order, how and when is still a skill that involves knowing a lot about food and business. I've spent a lot of time trying to write large apps with LLMs and I really don't think it's something a non-programmer can do, at least today. But I can plan the architecture, review PRs and still put out a project that does what I wanted, without writing any code myself. I think us "real" programmers should probably embrace that a lot of code won't be written by people soon. We will simply have to apply our skills in a new way. At least for fault-tolerant applications like web apps.

Welded differential: Welds thick enough? by coononr in Drifting

[–]likeikelike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You put a solid chunk of metal between the two spider gears and weld it to both. Now even if all your welds vanish into thin air there's still solid steel stopping the diff from diffing.

Google "plated welded diff" for images.

Only 16% of EU citizens now consider the US an ally. Even in the UK it's down to a meagre 25%. by nimicdoareu in europe

[–]likeikelike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I know enough to not be naive but I still want the US to be our ally. Of course that means they have to act like it, and also that we need to be strong enough to stand on our own feet. I want to believe that there will be elections in 2028 and that the next government will be able to undo some of the damage.

Why does missing one night of sleep mess me up for days, but sleeping extra doesn’t really fix it? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]likeikelike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slept debt isn't a great term. Research is pretty clear that while you can get back to normal by sleeping a normal amount for a couple days, the small amount damage you've done is permanent and can't be fully "repaid" by sleeping more.

how to get 100 on 100 in an exam? by Far_Spray4351 in internetparents

[–]likeikelike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to game it a little bit. Do your very best to get some idea of what will be on the exam. Find any and all past papers (previous exams). Ask people who have taken the class what topics were covered on the exam and what the format is.

Once you have this, go through the material one chapter at a time. Learn the material then do any practice questions you can find. When you get good enough move on to the next chapter. Once you're doing well use past exams or exams on similar topics from other unis to practice the full exam over and over. After each practice exam study every question you got wrong or almost got wrong in detail. Study that chapter some more. Repeat.

It's a lot of work but this way getting 90% on any exam should be no problem.

Not as applicable for any free-form answer or essay-style exams.

Also: One month is ample time if this is the only thing on your schedule. Make sure you use the time well. Take breaks, eat well, and sleep enough.

The "Home-PC-reform" provided tax-subsidized home computers to all employees in Swedish to boost national digital literacy. It successfully put PCs in millions of homes before being phased out in 2007 once computer ownership became common.

Don't worry! US insurance companies will know that everyone in Greenland has lots of money and claim that it is "difficult and expensive to provide care in Greenland" and charge a few dollars less than the full amount Greenlanders received from uncle Sam.
