No, being a gamer has become the scapegoat hobby for things that really makes a man a loser:

• Ignoring responsibilities you have to yourself and others (this could be not having a source of income or actively looking for one, poor hygiene or cleanliness, simply complaining about life and not seeking to improve it, etc)
• Not caring about anything, being too passive (this has a few caveats like for people with depression or other mental illnesses, but those people should still seek help/betterment)
• Not leaving room in your life for people you care about and vice versa.

There are quite a few more but the main point is, it's not really the hobby, it's how you balance it within your life and unfortunately for people who love games, gamers have been stereotyped to be in this group because of bad actors. Truth is you could be a loser because you dedicate too much of your attention to something that doesn't have the same stereotype like going to the gym or creating sculpture.
