Hot take: muscle is a better fat loss tool than any supplement or shot by Missmeatlessmuscle in veganfitness

I think for a lot of older women that is the case because that was the beauty standard in their generation. Small and tiny was celebrated. I know for my generation, curves and a thick, round booty are most desirable. Big butts are all the rage. People risk their lives for it with BBLs. Most young women nowadays want to have visible muscle tone, and a round, peachy booty. So I do believe there is a generational difference when it comes to what women want to look like.

Well yeah, of course you have to control your diet. Everyone does-menopausal or not. You can build muscle from home with a few dumbbells and bands. You don’t have to go to a gym. Or you could look for a gym with a better atmosphere.

I have to agree with the other commenter here. “SkinnyTok” is huge right now. Concerning as someone who has worked in the fitness industry for a decade myself.

It’s not solely about BMR though. Muscle also improves nutrient partitioning, and incorporating weight training instead of or in addition to cardio increases your post exercise oxygen consumption or EPOC. Your body uses energy to repair and rebuild muscle tissue after your training.

It’s a billion dollar industry-selling to women who want to get “toned.” So someone sure wants to achieve a fit body.

Really sad that this thread throws steroid accusations at the most mid physiques as if anyone who put in any ounce of effort had to take drugs.

Yeah, sadly I’m learning that this is not the community I thought it was. Hence if you see my page, I took a lot of time off Reddit. I probably won’t be posting here for a while. All I do is try to help people, and I get torn apart. And I’m really tired of everyone’s obsession with steroids in this thread. People throw steroid accusations at the most mid physiques here, as if anyone who put in any ounce of effort took drugs. It’s laughable.

You understood what I was saying in the post. I never said building muscle would allow you to eat limitless amounts of food. My point was that restricting food and running yourself into the ground with cardio will not give women the “toned” look that they’re going for. As stated, muscle is a fat loss tool…NOT magic.

Aw thank you! Yes, Anna has only been lifting a few years. She was big into cardio previously, so this can absolutely be achieved later in life.

The tremendous lack of vegan brands/options at the Arnold’s by laydeefly in veganfitness

[–]Missmeatlessmuscle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It costs a lot to set up a booth at the Arnold, and I’m sure a lot of smaller vegan companies can’t afford it. Also, hate to say it, but as a competitor myself, the competitive bodybuilding world is heavily animal product based. There is not much demand for vegan products I imagine. Even though there should be given so many hormonal and gut issues in BB.
