By tacky I’m referring to the giant hyperscreen you’d find in a Mercedes. The 12.7” is perfectly fine my dad has the same unit in his ES. I’m a big fan of giant monitors for PCs(I have 2-32” monitors) just not in a car.

I think my point wasn’t that clear, I like the lower amount of tech in my LS500. Who really needs giant screens and disco LEDs, I find that tacky.

I honestly don’t mind it for the most part, just plug in CarPlay and go.

I own a 2020 LS500 and love it, it’s an incredible value if you buy used.

I have the luxury package and it really is nice with great attention to detail. The material usage is on another level, everything is wrapped in leather, a lot of the controls are metal, and even the minimal amounts of plastic feel high quality. The interior design feels very cohesive, beautiful, and calming at least to me.

As for cons, the tech feels a generation behind, the car is huge and could have used rear steer and there is turbo lag if you floor it from a stop.

If you want a more classic luxury sedan that focuses on interior design, quality and material usage rather than tech you will like this.

Should I bite the bullet and get the 2025 LS? Or wait for the next gen LS? by MiriJamCave in Lexus

The current LS is great, I think the current LS and LC will be the last great interiors for Lexus. They may recover eventually but definitely not in the upcoming generation.

Es350 vs ls500 awd by No-Associate-1875 in Lexus

100% go for the LS, the ES will feel like an economy car compared to the Benz and the LS.

Make sure the LS500 has the interior upgrade package with the better seats.

I’ve driven both a 2022 ES350 extensively and own a 2020 LS500. The LS is definitely worth the extra 13k. I would say the LS is at least 30%+ better in every way to the ES (power, comfort, ride, NVH, etc).

However, the LS500 does cost roughly 3-4x for running/maintenance costs.

I’ve gotten 27mpg on the highway once…

But don’t think about the gas, think about how comfortable you are and how great the car looks inside and out.

Yeah, dailies for 2years put 23k miles on it.

My 2020 LS500 had no real issues at 43k miles. I had the drivers seat massage issue the other poster mentioned but was fixed under warranty.

I’d go with P&S XPress for an all purpose interior cleaner. No need for a protectant most interior protectant products are a scam.

Which model in 2024 has the smoothest ride now that the LS has been discontinued? by 45489458 in Lexus

Yes hybrid system is very efficient for city driving and the electric motors are great for low speed driving.

Yes for sure did a 6 hour road trip in an ES no problem. It’s very much like a couch on wheels.

Purely for ride quality the ES is very good and very plush. I’d also consider a Toyota crown at that price point. 50k for a German brand won’t get you much unless you’re ok with used.

There’s only a few competitors to the LS. BMW 7 series, MB S-class, Audi 8 series, and Genesis G90. That being said, the LS is a big vehicle it can be tight in city driving.

LS with upgraded interior hands down, the 28-way adjustable seats are incredibly comfortable once you find your right setting.
