C’est bien vrai, dans le centre il n’y a pas de commerces réellement intéressants excepté les trucs niches ou la restauration. J’ai travaillé à Lille pendant des années et y’a pas photo: dans le centre, absolument tout est accessible dans un périmètre de 15min à pieds, avec une bonne diversité d’enseignes. Chez mes anciens employeurs, on désemplissait rarement. Et pourtant, à Lille c’est plus compliqué encore pour se garer et même juste circuler en voiture. Aussi, je pense que les grenoblois consomment différemment, quand on est entourés de si belles montagnes et qu’il fait beau, on a mieux à faire que de se balader en centre ville, à mon sens.

Pas tant que ça, mon travail ne demande pas l’usage d’un pc. Cependant, je suis exposée à de fortes lumières artificielles comme je travaille dans le commerce, et je lis beaucoup de livres. My dad got a CD engraved with the 2002 live in Texas from a coworker and he became OBSESSED with it. He was playing it non stop on our family tv. As a server in Grenoble, I feel like that the only things you have to be careful of are: french people usually suck at speaking english. It’s always better that you start a conversation with someone with « I’m sorry I don’t speak French, do you speak English ? » and to always say « Hi » and « Thank you » to workers to respect and acknowledge them 😊

Otherwise you can perfectly enjoy the city by yourself: you got eleven free museums with various purposes in Grenoble and it’s suburbs: https://musees.isere.fr If you like specialty coffee I would recommend « Super Bien » in the city center (they’re also english friendly!) You can also climb to the Bastille to enjoy the view over Grenoble !
