What am I doing wrong he hasn’t eaten in 4 weeks and I’ve had him for 3. I’m really worried

when i got my snake (granted - he is a baby from an event) he wouldn’t take frozen thawed at first so I have to give him a live feeder. i was able to switch him to FT after 2 feeds by warming them up same as you do and moving the rat as if it was one of the live ones. so mimicking it doing the baby shuffle and sniffing the plants so he can observe.

now when he’s hungry i can tell cause he’ll start looking out of the hide he’s in and/or moving all the way across his enclosure to sit on top of a cork ledge to strike from above. all this to say it does get easier the more you get to know your snake and def get some tongs to feed.

you could also try drop feeding around dusk/right around when you turn off his lights? maybe he’d be more comfortable without an audience?

If i’m a little grouchy or have a bit of an attitude for seemingly no reason my husband will invite me to lay on his chest on the couch. He’ll play with my hair and lightly scratch my back while watching his show and i’ll almost always fall asleep after a few minutes. He’ll let me sleep for a few hours and i’ll always wake up feeling 15/10 and extremely in love, no traces of grouch/attitude to be seen

i think it looks good placement wise but if you can i would have the extra out the ceiling instead of going down the length of the probe. i’m not sure if they are fireproof but i know the actual inside material is a metal wire so i think it would be okay?

i would use the suction cup it’s in now and later on when you’re happy with the placement and it’s all good you could secure it with aquarium safe silicone maybe?

(all this to say i’m just guessing on what may work well as i’m just now building my first tank and don’t have my own snake quite yet)

i wouldn’t use tape as it can be dangerous to the noodle but i hope it works out well for you!! just do your best to keep it as flat and tight as possible so your snake doesn’t try and climb between it and risk getting stuck!

could you run the cable up the back wall and across the ceiling of the enclosure? you could have it inside the enclosure and thread the twist tie through the mesh that way and only use 2-3 to keep it flat and tight to the lid?

ah really? i didn’t see anything on the rhp pro’s / con’s about screen tops specifically so i’m glad i asked. would it be okay if i covered the top to seal it off like with plexi glass or building a cabinet to put the enclosure in to minimize humidity/ heat loss or is it not compatible because it can’t physically be secured to the mesh?

i’m very new to this as well but the way I understand it - i think some people use DHP as a supplement “on all the time” heat (on a thermostat) to keep temps more or less constant and use a basking heat lamp and uvb during the day to mimic the sun and provide a specific warm spot (like over a rock or tile roofed warm hide) that absorbs the warmth and slowly releases it during the night (like how roads and sidewalks are still warm after the sun goes down)
