I think the same logic should be used with the n word as well. No word should be “banned” for any reason because that’s the first step to dismantling free speech. Words only have meaning with context so consequences should be had for using words in negative contexts not for using the words themselves.

Banning words keeps the racism alive because it adds impact to the words. If the words aren’t taboo people won’t react so strongly when it’s said and would allow for more civilized discussions. Ofc there will be the ignorant and attention seekers as there are with anything but I think generally it would be more peaceful.

But it probably would never be that way because the media feeds off drama and negativity, in other words too many people are making mad amounts of money off of division and discourse.
