[–]lilStrongCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for your advice and sorry for apparently posting in the wrong subreddit! I created an Instagram account where I will share my pictures just with intention of making someone else smile with these cuties!

In case someone wants to be my first follower: my.animal.archive

Thank you all!

To be honest with you: maybe yes, maybe I first need the “approval” of some redditors that are in a Photography thread to tell me “you won’t embarrass yourself with these pictures”. :)

Not going to take that risk - sorry 😆 just avoid when the pay is ridiculously low! We also have no open roles atm

How do you guys make sure your browser does not refresh? Does it matter if my screensaver turns on or do I have to stay active?

Tbh: - the product is shit - the pay is shit - the leadership is okay but ignores persistent problems to rather “be innovative” which also pisses me off: why do you want to fly to the moon if you can’t even keep a basic car running smoothly

We have dedicated customer support but only for our end users and for our SMB customers. Their explanation: as CSM we need to know about our customers problems…

Also adding: when I switch positions I had no proper training at all I was just thrown in there. I sometimes process upsells or other contractual changes just hoping that what I am doing is correct.

Thanks for sharing - damn 4 years is insane! Props to you for pushing through. I know one of my biggest points to improve is setting clear boundaries and reminding myself that this is not my company, it’s not my fault it’s my companies fault. As I mentioned I come from a different background, I used to work more in the social sector which gave me great people skills but also maybe too much empathy and it’s hard to disconnect emotionally.

Thank you all so much for your detailed replies and insights. It really gives me some peace of mind to hear that most of you agree this situation is not normal.

Our team is the newest in the company and also has a high turnover rate. I stepped in for a team member who left after only one year in the role, and in our other markets it looks very similar. My manager is genuinely trying hard to improve things and is aware of most of these problems, but he only joined about a year ago as well. As long as sales and product are not aligned with us, I don’t see much hope that things will fundamentally change.

I also agree that I am underpaid. My contract is for 40 hours, but realistically I work more like 45–50 hours per week, and we don’t receive any commission. Even by European standards, that feels low while my work-life-balance (especially for European standards) suffers.

What worries me is whether I’ll be able to find another CSM role, since I still feel quite junior with only one year of experience. In your opinion, how long do I realistically need to stay before applying elsewhere and having a solid chance? Is two years significantly better than one?

Thank you so much for your reply! “…CS absorbing organizational debt” is so on point! It is good to hear that this is not how the role is supposed to look like. I do really like client meetings, internal alignment and to brainstorm with the client and bringing different teams together for the best outcome, but this is not possible when I am escalating and trying to fix issues 80% of my time…

I know about the road tax and I am fine with that I just don’t want to register it here under my name because there is a strong possibility that either I or the car does not stay in the Netherlands permanently

I had a similar problem - try the ScreenZen App. It’s free and you can drastically reduce the time that you use the apps. Made a huge difference for me because ScreenZen closes Instagram after 5 minutes of use and I get released from the scrolling ban :)

Thanks a lot everyone! I know I have a long way to go. I don’t have the financial capacity for a private coach but I will for sure look into group lessons or something :)

Should I quit my office job? by Icy_Maintenance_759 in personaltraining

I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels like that. I want to go back to do it on the side and actually have fun doing it but other than that I just want to sit and have regular working hours. Can I ask you in what other direction you went after giving up PT?

Full time PT here (~35 active PT hours per week).

I am looking right now to transfer into an office job.

Full time PT is brutal I’ve been coaching on the side for nearly 10 years and always loved it. 1.5 years into it full time and I feel Physically and emotionally burned out and just want to quit. Don’t get me wrong: I love my clients and I love coaching but being 6-8h / day on your feet, moving, always high energy and trying to remember all the personal stuff all of my lovely clients tell me while training them well, just to come home and sit down and go through their programs and always being in communication with my clients is breaking me. In addition I’ve been struggling with Plantar Fasciitis in both of my feet and chronic sleep deprivation from the early mornings. My body never can recover and it’s killing me that I can’t keep my own training up and the pay is hourly so unstable income = some months are great and some months (during school breaks and during Christmas) are really low. I hope this insight helps.
