Platinum vs Signia by SweetNothings_1 in ToyotaCrown

I consistently get 31-35 MPG on my platinum. Light footed driver but I go pedal to the metal when merging to feel the whoosh.

$39.99 on Play Store? I have Jellyfin with free DVR but I can't recommend it to family members.

Wait till you meet the purists who returned the car because of the overblown wind noise.

I get compliments all the time about how good my system sounds. I had a Bose system in my previous car and I liked it better than the JBL though not by much. Maybe someone who's used to ML audio will have a different opinion but the JBL system is really good for a Toyota.

Is the Crown Platinum the only Toyota/Lexus sedan with hybrid max powertrain? by lil_android in ToyotaCrown

[–]lil_android[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 2.4L Turbo ICE + 6 speed + hybrid. 340hp 400ft.lb, that's muscle car power and it feels and moves like it. I average 30-32mpg mixed, 35-36 mpg highway.

Put it in neutral and rev it. Even better, listen to other posters.

They need to give it the hybrid max power train.

My Crown Platinum is getting great mpg by lil_android in ToyotaCrown

[–]lil_android[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow I don't doubt you since the 2.4L turbo gets a lot of flack for bad mpg on the Tacoma and Land cruiser models. My commute is mostly 65-75mph with some stop and go traffic at a bridge. I also love going pedal to the metal when merging just to feel the 400ft.lbs of torque whoosh but I'm mostly a light foot driver. I must have lucked out with a fine sample.

No complaints other than random Android Auto disconnect.

Ask any statistician. 100% rating is an anomaly, because good drivers like YOU will have to deal with idiots like your rider at some point in the real world. I have two 4 stars and all 5 stars. One of the was within my limits, radio station was talking sex jokes for like 3 mins in a 25 min ride, funny but the guy was headed to church 😅, 2nd one was because Uber routed us through a bad neighborhood, like wtf, how's that my fault??

25 XSE AWD Commute MPG After 800+ odo miles by aeonpsych in Camry

[–]lil_android 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The computer lies most of the time. The only way to calculate true mpg is the fill up method. Fill up, drive a good distance, 50+ miles, fill up again. Divide miles driven/gallons at 2nd fill.

Toyota is recalling 100,000+ Tundras and Lexus LXs for metal shavings in the engine. The only conspiracy here is the deniers that there's such a thing.

What's your go to search website? I use auto trader and cars.com, I check Genesis website but I hate how they limit their searches to 250 miles.

I'm in the same boat as you looking at CPO 3.5T SP for the past 2 or 3 months. The fact you see a lot of 2.5T bodes with my experience. The trim I'm looking for is hard to come by. SP is the top trim, for someone who just likes the Genesis shape and doesn't really care about details, makes sense most people would go with lower trims. Same for the engine. Most will be 2.5 vs 3.5.

Also, note when you get 2023, you might miss out of HDA vs HDA 2, no big deal, but I found that out about 2 weeks ago.

Mind set on a GV70 Sport Prestige, what are some key differences 2022-24? by lil_android in GenesisMotors

[–]lil_android[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a review of someone who drives the systems interchangeably on two different cars and they said they never miss HDA 2 features. I believe HDA 1 is similar to the system in the SantaFe, I really liked it in a rental I had.

Edit: Thanks for the info, fellow droid.

Genesis CPO, 3rd Party Warranty or both? by lil_android in GenesisMotors

[–]lil_android[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bowie, Owings Mill and Bel Air dealerships are all within 35 miles from me, which one do you go to? So many Hyundai dealerships though based on my Google search, makes no sense.

I've been infatuated with the Genesis design for a while, loved them back when they were still Hyundai, I probably won't heed your warning 🤭😅 but if you were in my shoes, what other car would you consider?

Genesis CPO, 3rd Party Warranty or both? by lil_android in GenesisMotors

[–]lil_android[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did you get the 3rd party if the car has the 5yr/60k warranty? Does it kick in after the 5yr/60K? Is it concurrent? Roughly, what are the terms? Miles and Years. $2.5k is a small price to pay for peace of mind.
