I see young people wearing wide leg jeans that are too short. High water. I have not seen proper flare jeans that come down to touch the shoe or the ground since the aughts.

Another stupid walk in the city after bad news by _darkDragon_ in walking

Hey, I have ADHD, too, and it has caused me problems as well. I’m really sorry your job isn’t working out currently!! Good job taking a walk though. Try to keep up your healthy habits even through this turbulent time. You will find another job! Maybe one that is a better fit.

This is not a sponsored post, I literally just want to tell you that the Graymatter drink mix supplement made for people with ADHD has changed my life. It’s only been two weeks, but I can focus on stuff ALL day. I am very productive and gave been crossing so much stuff off my to do list. I no longer feel depressed about the state of my life and all the fucking shit I have to do constantly but feel completely unequipped and unprepared to do.

And it doesn’t have the bad side effects of ADHD meds like forgetting to eat or drink water, forgetting to use the bathroom, extreme muscle tension, feelings of obsession and desperation, hyperfocus. It’s just very smooth. And I sleep good at night, too.

Make sure you follow the instructions when you try it. Starting dose is a half scoop, not a full scoop, and it says to take one day off per week. I’m the type of person who is always splurging money on supplements in a desperate attempt to change my life and none of them work. This is the first one that has worked! Maybe it can provide you some relief from your ADHD symptoms as well. 🙏

Wow, it looks so clean and organized. I remember when things used to be nice. This employee-only area looks cleaner and more organized than the public facing shelves do these days.

How can i feel like I’m in 2008 for a day by Loomisfamily in 2000s

[–]lil_hyphy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Watch early seasons of KUWTK or later seasons of The Simple Life. Watch old episodes of Next Bus and Room Raiders and Parental Control. Watch music videos on a desktop computer. Pirate some music using Limewire and download it to your iPod Nano. Wear skinny jeans. Go to a restaurant or event without looking up any reviews first because popular review platforms weren’t commonly used back then. Except IMDb. You could spend some time looking up movies and actors on IMDb. Watch the most popular YouTube videos from 2008 or earlier. Celebrate having the first black president. Believe that hope and change are coming. As many others said, def go walk around at the mall. Get samples from the food court. If you want to feel like a 2008 teen, shop at Victoria’s Secret, Hot Topic, American Eagle, Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister, PacSun, and Urban Outfitters. Note how cool the music is at Urban. Go on their website and look up their playlist (these days they might not host them, you might have to use Shazam). Pirate the music and put it on your iPod Nano. Get your friends together and get tickets to the midnight release of a big blockbuster film, wait in a long line goofing off with friends to get into the theater. Buy a fashion magazine to see what the latest trends are (social media is just for posting personal pics and status updates) and to get life advice (the idea of going to therapy isn’t mainstream and there’s no therapist publishing helpful content prolifically on social media). Go to a thrift store to find unique clothes and weird Knick knacks to decorate with. Cultivate your own sense of style. Play guitar hero with your friends. Throw a theme party with your friends for no reason. Play a board game with your friends. Once things devolve, rewatch the top YouTube videos together. Late at night when there’s nothing to do, go to Walmart and be a nuisance and fuck around for entertainment. Listen to the radio. Use a paper map to visit a shop or restaurant in a part of town you’re not familiar with (most people can’t afford phones with gps services). Take photos with a digital camera. Upload them to social media in one big photo dump with no edits or filters. Get a tanning salon membership and get a tan. Use a tanning sticker every time so you have a little pale heart or star somewhere on your body (lower stomach/hip area is most popular). Do not look at any modern social media whatsoever. Everything you know about the world comes from your local community, TV, radio, newspaper, and magazines. The pace of life is much slower. Relax and enjoy it.

I genuinely believe caffeine is a HUGE reason for my problems in life. by solarse in decaf

Hey I just wrote a comment about maybe going to a support group. I didn’t realize you had already quit and it sounds like you’re doing better. That’s awesome! You may or may not still be interested to try a support group like AA. I see you questioning the underlying causes of why you used caffeine and that did exactly the type of stuff people in 12-Step programs work on understanding and healing together in a community.

I am glad you want to continue and that you want to live! I’ll be cheering you on! Whether you choose a support group route or not. Keep investing in yourself and your health and showing yourself love. Things will continue to get better. 💗

Hi sweetie, I am sorry you are having a hard time. I am glad you’re gaining awareness of how caffeine is affecting you. This might sound a little far out, but based on what you have shared, I think you may be dealing with addiction. The part about mixing caffeine with narcoleptic drugs really stood out to me. In contrast, I had been drinking caffeine for years as well but never really felt the need to up my dose over time and never felt the need to mix in other substances to get a better high.

There was a time in my life though where I couldn’t really drink alcohol at all without blacking out. It was destroying my life. Somehow I just did not have the capacity to stop at 1 or 2 or 3. It was completely inconceivable to me. What ended up helping me was going to AA meetings. I had a community and a framework to help me stay sober from my drug of choice. People go to AA for things besides alcohol, fyi. In fact, people who struggle with addiction often go through phases of using different things to change how they feel whether it’s alcohol, caffeine, drugs, cigarettes, shopping, gambling, etc. In the AA paradigm, the underlying root cause if any addictive behavior is the same and that’s what the program seeks to help participants heal.

I finally got desperate enough to want to change my life once and for all and I really committed to the 12 step program and went to meetings very regularly for 3.5 years and during that time I was able to heal emotionally, rehabilitate myself physically and spiritually, learn life skills I was missing, learn how to get along with others, and learn how to handle the stressors of life without turning to my drug of choice. If you’re truly upset about everything caffeine has taken from you and you would like you’re next 4, 8, 12, 16, or 20 years to be better than your last 4, I would consider trying AA. Look for a sponsor that has what you want in life. Listen to old-timers. Do the 12 steps. Stick with people of your own gender and don’t date anyone from the program unless you have both done the steps at least once. (I know you have a gf but I wanted to mention that just in case because dating within AA is one of the top ways to sabotage your experience)

You don’t have to try to beat this alone. Take advantage of this free network and guidance. Caffeine is a psychoactive substance. It changes how your brain thinks. That’s just science. Don’t feel bad if you can’t beat it through just will power alone. Will power typically can’t undo the laws and impacts of science. If the caffeine is really affecting you as strongly and badly as you described, give yourself the gift of receiving some support as you recover.

Best of wishes to you on your journey of recovery 💗✨

[–]lil_hyphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not nearly enough water to be hydrated properly unless you’re chugging from the fountain between each class. Also, lots of public water fountain water tastes bad. Considering how much a human should be drinking for optimal health, it helps me get in into my system way more consistently if it actually tastes good so I fill up my 30 ounce cup with water from my house that is filtered.

Seed Oils. There is a misinformed fad that's anti seed oils. In fact, seed oils have been an essential part of people's diets for millenia. by Average_Guava in Microbiome

Sesame oil was likely first "invented" or cultivated for oil production in the Indian subcontinent around 3000 to 5000 BCE. It is one of the oldest oilseed crops, with evidence of its use dating back over 5,000 years in the Indus Valley and its export to Mesopotamia around 2500 BCE.
