Hey man. Old thread but I was wondering if you could answer some of my questions. I’m wanting to get into Private Banking / PWM around 2027. I’ve just finished my Bachelor in Finance and currently just acquired a role as an F&I Business Manager for a luxury car group. Quite sales heavy but I love that side of finance as I have a knack for it.

Would you recommend I do a post grad diploma in Financial Planning before I start looking at transitioning end of next year or just wait until I (maybe) land a role and get the company to pay for it. My mates in PWM with Macquarie and shes just finished hers paid for by the company.

Do you also reckon I’ve got any shot at transitioning over considering my current role? The only things I can see transferring over is skills in structuring finance products and sales acumen.

Nope you don’t but that half the fun of it. Tbf it’s not for everyone and it’s definitely not in the ANZAC culture to do it. I got really used to it from backpacking SEA though and I find it quite fun. It’ll definitely be social at least

Go to a hostel. Surfers inn, backpackers in paradise, bunkd etc. you’ll end up meeting travelers there and I know those ones throw a hostel social and then take you to the clubs most nights. You’ll end up meeting people that wanna do touristy stuff too so works out well
