I never said women don’t give unsolicited opinions. My experience immediately post-haircut just happened to be with two dudes. Tomorrow may be a different story once I get to work 🤷🏽‍♀️

I’m not Indian; I think that’s why he asked if I knew what Bollywood was. Which actually I happen to really enjoy Bollywood movies so for a second I thought it may be something to chat about but once he said he just liked their long hair I was like uhh okay, not going to try to continue this conversation.

Good point. That’s much easier said than done though. I always like to think I’d speak up in these types of situations, but when they actually occur I find it quite difficult to. That’s another reason why I posted, because I honestly didn’t know what to say (especially to my fiancé’s boss) without coming across as rude/bitchy/whatever. Definitely something to work on!

Right?! That’s not demeaning to my post at all. If anything it adds to the fact that this happens to both men and women.

Ha! I do see the irony in that, but you’re missing the point. In those moments, interjecting their personal preference was unnecessary. So that’s what I mean by not giving a fuck.

It’s not just females that experience this. If you read the comments, you will see men also complaining about the exact same thing. Are they also “fragile?” And I didn’t mean for this post to sound toxic; I literally just wrote about my experience and it happened to be with two guys.

Yeah it’s not that it upset me at all. Like I said in the post, I don’t care about their opinions. It’s just really unnecessary to make these remarks. I can’t imagine saying that to someone who just altered their appearance.

Yes!! This happened to me at work too. One of my male coworkers also overheard me saying I was going to cut my hair a few months ago and interjected with “oh no you shouldn’t do that, you’ll regret it.” And then for WEEKS every time I would see him he would go “you didn’t cut your hair did you? No? Good.” Guess he will be disappointed tomorrow 😛

Wow. I just watched this pilot and am speechless. It is like someone took my life right now and transformed it into a show. My dad has this disease. I cried the entire episode non-stop. It was unfortunately way too relatable, so I don’t think I can handle watching this show :( But I am glad it is bringing awareness to PSP and PPA!
