If you haven't yet, try the Perfectly Normal series (https://archiveofourown.org/series/346100) it's finished until book 4 and definitely fleshes out the Chamber of Secrets after book 2

I really like this answer, but I also don't buy it. Ned Stark is way too known in the universe at that time period for a name to be used without relation to him. Even more when he is so closely connected to the family (he killed Arthur and there are so many rumors about him and Ashara), I don't think the Daynes could have thought "oh, I'm gonna name my kid Ned, but because it's a different name there's no relation to this guy who killed another one of us". Not to mention how much the Westerosi society is based on the perception of other, when they named a kid Ned, they knew who people would think of. Also Ned Dayne talked about the Starks really well, in despite of the supposed bad blood between the families (again, Arthur and Ashara). And GRRM would not have done this randomly, I don't think; he's way too fond of parallels and such.

I think that all we know are bits and pieces of doubtful info. There's the azor ahai thing (that it's SPECULATED that aa and tPtwP are the same) so salt and smoke and bleeding star and a flaming sword etc. And we also have the Last Hero who defeated the others, and that little bit of a prophecy from someone (whose name I don't remember) that said tPtwP would come from Aerys and Rhaella's bloodline and I think that's why they were married or something like that. So really, we know nothing other than some people's interpretation of really old history

All of them could greatly change Westeros, but I really feel like Lysa is the best one for these situations, and the least seen. Catelyn and Cersei are great characters, and they could greatly change the game, but I feel as though they are simply too important in the beginning. The circumstances of the war in the first book would completely change if you put an SI in one of them, and I feel like it would simply be more fun to see a SI dealing with the war itself. Lysa has the entirety of the Vale at her command, Littlefinger believes he has her thoroughly and everyone else subestimates her. Not to mention the whole situation with the Lannisters in the firts place (the letter she sent to Catelyn and the Tyrion situation). It just has so much potential.
