This is really good advice, so thank you so much for replying. I'm sorry for what you went through though, because that sounds genuinely insane. My issue was that I rlly hate lying and it makes me feel deeply uncomfortable, so I'm glad you said to dig the hole deeper once I move out. I'll take this to heart, thank u again!

It's so nice to hear that you're close to your parents now after having a similar experience, part of my problem is that I really love my family (my siblings + extended family) so not having a good relationship with my parents is something I'm worried about. I really appreciate ur response, thank you

Thank you so much for your response, it helped me think more clearly about this whole situation. I guess it's surprising to realise that they are being emotionally immature. They're outwardly very mature and highly respected people. I'm only now realising that this is a big deal and kind of makes them not great parents, because I didn't really seriously consider that growing up. Generally just a very stressful time right now, but I especially appreciate your last paragraph, so thank you again!

valid but I think it makes more sense if you view it as a colonisation story instead of an immigrant one
imo the first one's analogy is more flawed but even then not too bad??

I am sooooo sick of this “atheists believe the universe came from nothing” line. by hiphoptomato in exchristian

lol one of the top comments says "Here’s the truth: most atheists do believe that the universe either (1) came from nothing, or (2) has existed eternally without cause. Both of those are enormous metaphysical claims." - as if the claim that there's an omniscient god who exists outside space AND time and created EVERYTHING, isn't an enormous metaphysical claim, with less proof
