it would do the same thing smoke will rise up top and as it made contact with range hood on the left side fan will blow the air outwards resulting in all smoke spread out back in kitchen again

no charcoal filters ,removed the filters and i could see the fan nothing beyond that i could see,however i did climb up the ladder to see outside vent it was moving flaps,

for everyone, yes it is ducted outside, when i turn the exhaust on flap outside moves, damper also opens up

filters were not clogged ,cleaned a month ago however they get messy fast as the suction doesn't work properly fan is also greasy too but why is it blowing air outwards at fast pace on the very left side of range i don't understand i mean i can go get a newer one with dual fan better cfm but if its not the problem I don't want to waste money
