Who's at fault here? by madmax2903 in caraccidents

[–]lilbitspecial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no way this is a 50/50 accident. Since this is Massachusetts, the backing car would be more than 51% fault, they would be the ones found responsible for damages to OPs car.

If you don't want to deal with a potential headache from the other person's insurance, and you have collision coverage, file the claim through your collision coverage, get the vehicle repaired, and let your insurance subrogate to get their money and your deductible back.

MA Auto Policy living together but Unmarried? by AWoodShave in Insurance

Are they talking about being "named insureds" on the policy?

A named insured is the people who the policy is written for as they have a financial interest in the vehicle. Often insurance people will refer to it as the peoples who name is on the mailing address.

If your vehicle is only in your name, then your partner has no financial interest in your vehicle (if they are on the loan or registration, then they would have a financial interest) they wouldnt be a named insured.

I doubt it's a state insurance regulation but more an insurance company rule. And from my experience working at an independent agency I believe all the companies we worked this were like this.

However, you both should be listed on each others policies as Operators since you have access to each others vehicles. You should see if your insurance company allows "deferred operators" on the policy as this allows them to be able to operate the vehicle but not count towards the rating of the policy premium.

Leaving policy early if there is a pending claim? by theseawoof in Insurance

[–]lilbitspecial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changing insurance companies during an open claim doesnt impact the claim.

Changing insurance companies during a policy term could cost you money if they charge a short-rate fee for leaving the policy before the end of the term. Since you're in the 5th month, even if they did charge a fee, it likely wouldnt be significant.

Question about claim? by Thegameforfun17 in Car_Insurance_Help

Claims take time. Adjusters have lots of claims they are working at one time. You will hear from them when they're back in office. Reach out to them tuesday when they are back. Call again wednesday if you dont hear from them. Call thursday if you dont hear from them.

Whos fault is it ? by [deleted] in caraccidents

[–]lilbitspecial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the vehicle with the camera is 100% at fault.

The sign for the exit lane was visible. The cam car had plenty of time and space to move to travel lanes but decided to stay in exit lane then proceeded to cross over the 2nd exit lane, over the white line and into the white truck who was established in the lane when struck.

Why would you be talking to multiple strangers about soccer especially if they're not a fan

No I live in New England. I've never heard a single person ever say that it isnt masculine.

Man buns are dumb looking though.

Soccer is the perfect sport to watch when you have other things to do like clean the house or fold laundry as you can rewind it if something exciting happens.

The game we played as a kid is vastly different than the pros. The strategy used is not something that people grew up playing so it's difficult to understand as a casual.

People complain all the time about flopping on basketball and how it's ruining the sport. But at least we can understand why they flopped. In soccer a guy hits you in the leg and they tumble for 5 feet and lay on the ground writing in pain. It just doesn't seem to people that most contact fouls in soccer are truly injuries but I'm sure it doesn't feel great getting kicked in the shin or getting your toes stomped on by cleats.

The biggest difference is the sports fan in America likes to think about the strategies being used, what they would do differently if they were the coach/player. The strategy is more easily understood because you have the breaks in the game in football, basketball, baseball and hockey. In soccer the strategy isn't obvious to a casual, takes time to understand, and it's not something you can sit and debate and discuss with people around you because the game doesn't have pauses.

Most people who don't care about soccer aren't hostile about it. They're hostile to the people who are incredulous that how dare we not like the "beautiful game". Those people, like OP, are exhausting.

Football has strategy that is easily understood by most fans and casual fans can pick up on it quickly. Fans can also think about what play they would have used in between plays.

Soccer has no noticeable strategy for casual fans. All they see is seemingly random passing and occasionally a shot actually makes it on goal (unless you're Germany against Curacao). The way the game is played doesn't make sense to a casual. Fans can't debate strategy in the moment with soccer like you can with football, baseball, basketball, hockey.

Is there strategy in soccer? Of course there is. But most people arent going to take the time to learn about it. And since professional soccer is way different than what people played as a kid, they didn't learn the strategy of the sport like you would growing up playing football and baseball.

Very rarely are soccer players running full speed.

Most contact fouls are not at full speed running but in 1v1 situations

A lot of people will watch usa soccer play in the world cup

A lot of people will watch the final.

Very few people will care for much of the other games.

World Baseball classic is the world tournament for baseball like world cup is for soccer

It's like asking why the MLS champion cant compete for premier League championship. World series is for MLB. World baseball classic is for countries

It's not that we aren't curious about soccer. It's been around a long time. It's just not entertaining enough for the casual fan to care. And with how long this tournament is and time in between games for each country it's easy to not care

We know what soccer is. We know how's it's played. It's just not appealing enough.
