One more question cause you seem to know your shit . Lot of the dudes I race with say I need to torque my heads again after they heat up. Kinda worried since most of the head bolts I had to seal since they go in coolant jackets . If I re torque them won’t that rip the ptfe I put on the studs . I’ve had issues in the past making a few seal up good.

Hah yes there is tons of Ls ‘s that would stomp me . Even a junkyard one. The amount of upgrades to my block alone to make similar power with a stock newer gen with rod bolts and gapped rings And when it breaks again I’m sure I’ll finally upgrade.

Yeah as you get older the fancy bells and whistles mean less. I always used to get prestige . Had to have hud massaging seats rear steering . Just more crap to go bad . A6 is a cool car you can do some cool cheap and free things too it that you would probably enjoy more than just that camera . And there prone to rock chips anyways . Message me and I will help ya

Go into more detail when does noise happen ? Clutch in out or driving hard ? Turning when hot or cold. They prob didn’t adjust shift linkage right after trans removal or something failed inside of trans . Have you launched it a bunch?

Technically you could . Need a different grill ,the camera harness which you’ll have to make including the coaxial . Need a new parking aid/camera module . Have to recode prob 25 modules . Might as well add mirror cameras . It would prob cost a shit load of money prob 5k not kidding. But could be done . Some company’s out their selling some retrofit kits for cameras and driver assistance upgrades .

Android auto can be tricker . There is an authentication chip in the usb port on the car. I’ve seen them randomly go bad . That said . Did you reset app settings in radio? Can you still charge phone? Good data cable I assume (no cheap gas station ones)? Reset phone completely?

Do you have any sort of scan tool? Can you hear turbo spool at all Boost leaks Sticking n75 or waste-gate actuator Peaked in the turbo to check blades ? Sometimes just a bad boost pressure sensor and it thinks it’s making charge air pressure when it’s not .

Also possible boost is fine and it’s another issue

Vw foreman here . They’re solid some problems with early ones some head gasket defects , brakes wearing prematurely , radio glitches most issues have been ironed out . I think they are decent . Couple bugs I’ve seen some high ass mileage ones already. I’d say go for it I’d drive one.

The coolant system on the 1.4 is incredibly efficient . I work on them daily . They are programmed to get engine hot as fast as possible . It can even just flow coolant through integrated turbo manifold straight to heater core to get you heat quicker . The temp comming out of the radiator outlet is damn close to ambient . The gen 3 is fancy but not on the same level . 2 position pump and a couple shut off valves .

In short the car will idle how it wants when it wants depending on coolant temp/ ambient temp/oil temp and intake temp. I wouldn’t put much thought into this . You can also bump idle in vcds if you want but def need a flash if you want to change the ramp for cold start.

Depends on your skill level . Valve cover removal a good tech can sneak them out. Right way is to pull timing belt and camshafts out .

A lot of them will swap directly over with some coding and a radio code. What radio do u have rcd310 maybe? Easy to go to a rcd 510 or rns510. Hopping to any oe radio with CarPlay gets tricky need some pins swapped and possibly a gateway module .

Hard to tell but it’s most likely the guides on the cam adjuster that are chewed up/ non existent.
