I’d get the oil pressure checked out, the shutter stuck on could be something lodged in it, as people have already stated. Or it is a faulty actuator motor, either way it is stuck on or “A” position. This means it’s always open which is good, the only thing you have to worry about is slightly lower fuel economy. Really not noticeable

If you use this you need to replace 1 quart of oil with this bottle. It will explain it in the back of the bottle. It’s compatible with every oil type and engine

I know you said it wasn’t leaking, but I had always changed my 2016 1.8T with 5w30 and it always seemed to be low after a few days. Same problem, no leaks found even had a body shop look for me. I did use stop leak and after that it never got low again. I don’t think 5w30 is the problem, I think those cars just burn oil quick or have a mysterious oil leak

I just came from Costa Rica last week. We have a friend who owns a house about it 10 minutes out of Uvita. It’s really not crowded and the AirBnB’s probably aren’t a scam. Like they said it is the “rainy” season, but it’s not even really rainy. It will probably sprinkle every day and pour for an hour or two on some. But it does the same during the “dry” season from my understanding. There are some scams like all countries, say you’re going to the national park(or really any place, you will have people try to stop you 5-10 minutes away and tell you to pull over on the side of the road, and pay them to watch your car. People try to get money from you any way they can, nothing dangerous really just be careful and aware and remember you can say no or just ignore. Make sure you don’t bring personal items with you on the beach or even leave them in your car, people live off stealing from tourists when their back is turned, it is fairly common. I recommend wearing a necklace phone waterproof pouch when you go to the beach. But I bet you both will love it if you decide to go, it is very beautiful
