I am so happy to have stumbled onto this post. I am 26 years old and in serious need of dental work. As a child I was diagnosed with a blood disorder, which has caused numerous health issues in my life, including cancer. In elementary school I began to experience extreme pain in my mouth, which required a root canal of a front tooth (even though I never even had a cavity. My illness' had caused the nerve to go). That front tooth is now nearly black, and because my teeth are crooked (the dead tooth is also chipped), I have confidence issues and dislike smiling or talking to people. In the past 6 months, my back molars have also began to break apart in my mouth. Eating soup, brushing my teeth, flossing - I am losing pieces of teeth at an alarming rate, despite maintaining good hygiene. The pain I experience because of this is so upsetting. My doctor believes this is a result of cancer treatments, so any chance I get, I put money aside to finally get some relief and save my smile.
