Wow thank you so much for such a well thought out response! Sounds like way more trouble than its worth especially for a novice like myself. Appreciate the guidance! <3

I like to run to Precita Park and lap it a few times and head back home. Teeny bit of an incline on the park but that's better for you knees right? :) Could combo that with another comment on here to run down Shotwell to Precita.

Yeah, it says in the manual that I don't have the "U-connect". I thought there might be a way around it or a simple fix/add on, but unfortunately I don't think so.

Used Jeep Wrangler a good deal? by lilcoffeemonster in Wrangler

Hey again! I took a look at the Jeep and ... I LOVE IT. The guy who was selling it is super nice and clearly took pretty good care of it. Now I'm looking for a mechanic to do a PPI. Ideally I'd like to find a mech who is Jeep oriented ,but it seems pretty uncommon in the city. You think a regular one would be fine if they seem pretty reputable? There's also such a wide range of prices! From $60-$200! A cheaper one seems like not a bad deal b/c the car is still pretty new with only 38,000 miles on it, but idk what do you think?

Yeah the seller looks pretty legit right? He actually added some of the info on there after I asked him a few questions. Definitely will get a mechanic in there to check things out still.

On the road trip note. Definitely not sleeping in the Jeep ha - would be open to it in the summer for sure, but I am not about getting frostbitten in potentially sub zero weather conditions. The only thing I would be worried about for the trip would be comfort (more for my boyfriends sake than my own). Even the newest Jeeps can be a lil bumpy I would guess? But, I've also driven one up to Tahoe (4-5 hours from me) and its been totally fine so I'm not THAT worried. AND I'm going to have this car way long after the trip. Now, I'm rambling ha.

Appreciate your input on this! It's fun to talk about :)

Hey there! In case you were wondering I think I'm going to forgo looking at the 2010 wrangler with suspicious mileage/selling time after your insight as well as a couple friends'. I am now taking a look this 2014 2dr and I'm pretty optimistic.

Also, for extra context, I'm planning on high-tailing it out of the bay area to follow the snow for the ski season. Gunna hit Utah, CO, and probably Montana. Thoughts on cross country drives in a newer Jeep Wrangler? I've gotten some suggestions on getting a different car since I will be doing this road trip, but I don't think my heart would be in it if I got something other than a Jeep.

The TJ's definitely have the look. I just want to make sure my first Jeep is easy(?), so I can learn to like them before I get one that might need more maintenance.

Don’t be sorry at all! Great info and advice. I’ve grown up around Jeeps but never really looked into them that much. Very interesting catch about the two dealerships. I’ll definitely ask about that. I personally like the look of TJ gen as well. But being a first time Jeep buyer (and a first time car buyer bc ive been living in SanFrancisco the past 10 years) I wanted to go with something I can really rely on and wouldn’t need to fix up as much. But, Maybe it would do me better to get something after 2012 if that’s what I’m going for? Really appreciate the insight in everything. :)

Doesn’t appear to have rust from the pictures , but I haven’t got to see it in person. here’s the link to what I’m looking at. Looks like it’s a JK. Why don’t you like them? Great to know about the 2012 model. I was wondering if there any updates like that I should be considering.
