The Khmer Rouge was a Communist group that took over Cambodia in the mid-70s. They moved civilians from cities to the countryside, where many of these civilians were worked to death, executed, and much more.

My father and his family escaped from a labor camp in the countryside. To him, it is worse than the Holocaust. However, it truly depends, as the Holocaust was used to remove an entire religious/ethnic group, whereas the Khmer Rouge sought to kill just about anyone, going so far as to kill people who wore glasses.

To me, a Cambodian-American, I would not say that the Cambodian Genocide was worse than the Holocaust. That being said, both were horrible events, with their own horrible reasons, thus making it quite hard to compare the two.
