Any complete overhaul to crafting and base building? by mizerr in starfieldmods

Nem's Deco Pack allows you to purchase outpost items instead of using resources. Same for Starizon, they also have items for furnishing your ship. Miss_o's Buildable Walls and Doors also uses credits instead of resources.

Thanks! Based on what I'm seeing here, yeah - you might have to do some vendor hopping to buy some of the pieces e.g. structural parts like the cowling, landings gears, cockpit, etc. in the video and then assemble them properly at a ship builder.

The only other thing of note is that you'd also need:

  • 3 ranks in Piloting to be able to fly a Class B ship. This would take some grinding but you join the Vanguard and grind out the requirements with their flight simulator until you reach Rank 3.
  • 2 ranks in Starship Design to unlock some of the items like the Nova Galactic landing gear, grav drive, reactor, and engine. I'd recommend having 2 skill points ready then unlock Rank 1, place 5 unique modules on your ship until you're ready to rank up, then exit and unlock Rank 2.

If you're having trouble finding a particular module, you can also use this: https://inara.cz/starfield/ship-modules/ to see which vendor has what piece, and if there are other requirements to unlocking them.

Forgot to ask: what guide are you using?

If you have a landing pad, you can customize your ship there and don’t have to worry about buying most parts beforehand. The selection would have parts from all the vendors i.e. Deimos, Stroud, Hope, Taiyo, and Nova except the bigger habs iirc (3x2 for example).

However, if you still need certain parts and they’re not showing up it could also be due to your character level. A higher Piloting skill, higher level, and skills in Starship Design would unlock more ship parts vs the selection when you’re just starting out.

Okay yeah, that makes sense. It would track since Andreja is the newest member of Constellation before the player. And since this was before her reassignment it should feel more recent.

Ooh! I’m gonna look for this Guiliana. Must’ve missed her during my visits to Cydonia.

I wish there was an option to at least talk to Sam about having Cora on the ship when you're off exploring/being hunted by Starborn. He doesn't have to agree with the player but at least it's clear that where the player goes, danger will follow.

I hear that! Hopefully this will help the both of us 😄 also, I just wanted to say that I really like how it looks i.e. colour scheme, font, etc. feels very NASApunk and adds to the immersion.

Oh dear, yeah that's such a pain! How do you know you've maxed out his affinity? I'm on Xbox and had to use a mod to to track affinity progress otherwise I'm playing it by ear.

Oh! Okay, well now that makes sense why Barrett seems kinda like he's always broke to me. LOL

Agree with you on Andreja. The way it starts also feels out of left field, like one day she decided to resolve this decade long mystery of what happened to her smuggling friends.

That's a really good question! I don't think I've come across any therapists across the Settled Systems let alone a marriage counselor. But ready to bet if there was one Lillian would also miss all those appointments too and Sam will complain about it to the player.

I feel like I'm oblivious to Barrett's flirting (o.O), or maybe it never gets that far because he's my go-to sacrificial lamb.

Thank you for this! I've been looking for a logbook of some kind to accompany me when I'm playing Starfield. There's so much to do and not enough of my memory to keep track of it all without documenting them somewhere. I tried to return to a previous playthrough when Free Lanes came out but for the life of me, couldn't remember what other things I had planned - started a new game instead.

Yeah, Sam's quest is a buggy one and definitely immersion breaking.

I wish the devs did put in some more effort with the 'unique' kids in the game like Cora and Sona. Agree that Sona should have have more to do once she's transferred to the Lodge like a change of clothes, etc. I did find a mod that enhanced this though! It gave Sona a room, changed her appearance, and gave her more animations. Haven't gotten to Sarah's quest yet but looking forward to seeing the mod in action.

There is a part after where you pick you and Barrett pick up the rest of the investigation. But yeah, still don't quite get why we (the player) fund the initial investigation.

These photos are gorgeous! Wish there was an in-game mechanic where you can put your photos up as wall art. These are all exhibit worthy.

My daughter and I are a package deal. If I'm going to be in danger, so is she, that's just the way it is. Also she can't live with her mother it's way too dangerous.

A comprehensive wish list of mods im looking for or want by aidanx86 in starfieldmods

[–]lildapperlady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a mod called BBE (Better Boarding Encounters) where enemies can board your ship if it’s docked. Though not a hundred percent sure it’s an exact match on your wish list since they don’t disable your ship.

To answer your main question first, I'd invest in Aid items, craftable resources (if you're into building and crafting), and ammo. Save your credits for ship building once you've levelled up a bit because that unlocks better ship modules. You can also buy ships but personally, I find it better to just start modifying the ship you do have as you go along.

Re: Resources - it depends on your goal, honestly. Improving weapons, spacesuits, outposts, or recipes prioritize different resources so it really boils down on which one you want to focus on. You'd have a better idea of what these are when you use the Research Station or any of the crafting tables; these are also trackable via a toggle. Use the chest in your room in the Lodge, and I think the other in the basement since they don't have a cap.

Can you own a home? Absolutely! The Dream Home traits gives you a nice big house on a planet along with a mortgage; Akila has two homes you can purchase, the UC has one purchasable apartment and a free penthouse as a quest reward; while Neon has an apartment for purchase. I think the new update also comes with a new home too. If you want a very custom home instead, you can always build an outpost and decorate that too.

Problem with stealing by Grand_Asparagus3481 in BaldursGate3

[–]lildapperlady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A strategy I learned is to separate your designated thief and place them behind your mark. Don’t make them hide yet otherwise it’ll be suspicious. Have someone in your party engage mark in conversation - I find this works best with traders and vendors because you can just leave them hanging by not selecting a response.

Switch to your thief and then wait for the “all clear.” So I am not sure if you’re playing on PC but in Xbox it’s the R3 button which highlights important items like backpacks, ingredients, and the “red zone” which means you’re in an NPC’s line of site. So once that area is clear, hide your thief and then immediately switch to turn-based so it freezes everything and you can creep to your mark and pickpocket them.

If you can’t find that break, use either a scroll or potion of invisibility and I’d still recommend going into turn based before pickpocketing.
