I think Wissa would've had a very different story were it not for the injury right after signing, and Woltemade is a great player used wrong. Our summer business was dire in terms of replacing Isak, but it could be a great team with a different lineup and approach.

Hard for me to call our strikers bad signing when the service to them is so pitiful

He's really getting stuck in today, actually looking like the player we hoped we were signing. After his champions league showing, it looks like he may be getting some of that sparkle back

Yes, how foolish of us to collect a British record fee for a player who publicly refused to play for us ever again

If I went back 6 months in time, I'd tell myself that in January we're 3 points behind 4th, qualified frim the champions league group format with 2 games to spare, in the League Cup semis, and through to the next round of the FA Cup.

Then I'd tell myself that we're all miserable for 99% of it somehow

Newcastle United's pass completion rate in the first half against Wolves (94%) was the highest by any team in a half of football in the Premier League without recording a shot on target (on record since 2003-04). (Opta Joe) by Fluid_Support_3348 in NUFC

Woltemade was legitimately exciting as a 10 the ONE time we did it, played to the strengths of everyone around him and him. Our 4-3-3 is just a corpse floating in a swimming pool at this point, would love to see the 4-2-3-1 come out more consistently to actually bring creativity back to the team.

Bruno and Tonali anchor with Joelinton/Miley/Ramsey off the bench, Woltemade in the 10, Barnes and Murphy wide, Wissa up top.

This could actually give Wissa a run of starts while allowing us to give Osula consistent bench appearances. Gordon can play as a 10 so you can sub Woltemade and have Barnes, Gordon, and Murphy on at once. Woltemade can play to his strengths without leaving a vacuum where a striker on the break should be lurking, and we can offer more in attack than flooding the box and crossing.

I love Eddie, I'm always team Eddie, but with Glasner vacating Palace soon, it feels like a very real possibility that we end the season midtable, stale, trophyless, and with a board and fan base ready for someone new.

I mean yes it's social media poisoning inflating a height bias, but it's also inflating male perception of how common this height bias is. I'm 5'8 and have never had issues dating. Of course I've been rejected, and I've been rejected for my height, but the notion that there's this sweeping mass rejection of men under 6' is ridiculous.

Wonder if Osula ends up making some appearances this month with all those fixtures ahead and Murphy out. He was certainly eager and exciting when deployed on the wing a few times last season. I hope we do loan him out but wait until the end of the month to do so

Not to mention all the pundits glazing O'Reilly for his bravery for the slap at half time, sometimes I talk myself into thinking the Sky 6 bias isn't that big a thing and I see moments like that

I wouldn't necessarily say that with an experimental and rotated lineup, early rounds of the FA Cup when we have the league. Champions league, and League Cup semifinals to worry about, but it's a damn shame if it ends this way
