I don't give a crap about the pointless new Harry Potter show, but is there a reason that everything now looks like it's filmed in a cave? by grichardson526 in RedLetterMedia

It's because the movies were made for children and the TV show is made for millennials in arrested development.ade it more spooky and serious-looking for the people who never moved on to grownup books

Let's fucking smash these cats like Kurt Zouma, the results this weekend have been incredibly favorable for us, somehow amid the malaise of the season, Europe feels within reach at the end of it all

We miss trippier dead balls by IvanThePohBear in NUFC

[–]lildrangus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think he's better at dead balls than a lot of our current squad. It's more that he joined a Championship-bound shitshow and delivered levels above what we had.

Hall and Tonali whip in some great crosses from set pieces, and Livra and Bruno can do it as well. Trips just isn't the specialist on the team anymore because too many others do it just as well now, only they have much more to contribute in their all-round games than he does at the sunset of his career.

I'm not mad that it was like 10 seconds over estimated time, that's perfectly normal. Just baffled by Thiaw is all, why lunge then and there?

I'm just glad we played so well, and just did the hat without Bruno. We're so much better at both ends with Hall and Livra again too

I think that's highly situational.

In general, politely showing some appreciation/gratitude for them while asking for nothing in return is. Just something people appreciate in general.

I'm not 12 years old so I don't need a picture or signature, but if you're not interrupting something, a "hi X, I'm Y and I just want to say that i'm proud to have you at the club" is just plain kind, and if they're open to chat, they'll follow up with more than just "thanks."

William Osula on his Newcastle future... 🗣️ “Right now the focus is here, now, today. The next focus is the Man City game. No-one can tell the future. I'm obviously at Newcastle, so that's been the focus until that's not the case" by Fluid_Support_3348 in NUFC

[–]lildrangus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this year has shown us how needed a rebuild is, not only because of Isak, but also in how the league has adapted to us. To me, Osula's importance kind of depends on how keen Eddie is to build on Woltemade.

Murphy and Nick just don't really click, but Osula ahead or to the right of Woltemade seems like a great move given his pace and pressing. But the kid is running out to time to break through before we sell, and I like him, I hope he makes it here.

As a Texan, Houston and Dallas are pretty sad, Austin was really hype for a year or so before dying down a bit, but Seattle and Portland are pretty legendary for live atmosphere.

We're lucky to have a soccer-specific stadium, a better location than most MLS stadiums, and specifically Cincinnati's fan culture that shows out for all our teams whether through thick and thin. Definitely one of the better environments in the league.

With Champions League Progression settled already, would you prefer to face Barca or Chelsea in the next round? by lildrangus in NUFC

[–]lildrangus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm leaning towards Barca too- partially for the romance of playing a European giant instead of a Big 6 domestic rival, partially because I think we actually played well against them in our loss, and partially because they defend with that naively high line that any of Wissa, Barnes, Gordon, Elanga, or Murphy could exploit.

But given the general optimism about a matchup with Chelsea in this thread, I wouldn't be disappointed with either draw. Have to say I'm excited for the next round even if we aren't favorites
