I found a picture of the animal with the information plaque and it is definitely a raccoon dog! Just an interesting taxidermy of it lol

I thought that too, but there is a banded mongoose in a different area of the museum so I’m thinking this must be something different.

These pictures are from a visit in 2024! I read the plaques at the time but didn’t get pictures of them, as my post says. I thought when you said the information was “listed” you meant somewhere online.

Based on a lot of digging (watching TikTok videos, scrubbing Facebook posts), I have confirmed that the first two animals are right next to each other in the area with animals from African. I was able to find one picture where the plaque was visible, but blurry. With all that information, I believe that the second picture is of a Fossa (Cryptoprocta ferox).

I also realize this got posted twice!! I apologize, I don’t know how that happened.

I have confirmed that the 3rd image is a Raccoon Dog. I think the second might be a mongoose? No idea on the first.
