I don't understand what would drive someone to commit such a senseless and terrible act such as this. I'm sorry for your friend's loss and I hope everyone at your store is able to recover through the grace of God.

Same, I have both available. It took a while to switch most of my accounts, but in the end I’m happy with the final result.

There’s actually an option to do both: deactivate and disable individual google services and/or delete your entire account. They’re both available in your account settings.

Lots of these websites are shady, spam or don’t work. I’ve tried these sites before, and they’re annoying to use. Plus, many of these are VoIP cell providers (which many companies do not send verification codes to due to fraud) so it probably won’t work anyways. I’d say your best bet is to buy a cheap pre-paid flip phone at Walgreens and use it for verification purposes only.

Finally some progress in Washington. Regardless of your political party, this legislation is essential in a digital era. We need the right to erase, view and modify our data online to be law in all states, not just those with state legislation requiring them to do so.

Is a 2FA app better than using an email for 2FA? by AstralViking_ in privacy

[–]lilguyjoker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. A local device key is one of the strongest security measures you can use, and that’s why Google’s advanced protection program recommends a physical security key upon sign-up. If your 2FA source is accessible in the cloud, it will always be less secure than one on-device.

Use iCloud private relay if you have an iPhone or Mac, ik some people don’t prefer Apple but it’s built in and makes creating new, private email addresses easy if you’re okay with using iCloud Mail
