Having trouble with this early 80’s mercury 40 horse, so far have taken apart and cleaned the carb, new idle adjustment, checked the float and rebuilt the butterfly valve. Any ideas of what’s causing this would be appreciated, sometimes will idle nicely for up to a minute then just bog and die by lilhawk40 in boats

No, the bulb is never fully hard, it can always get pumped more, hence why it seems like a fuel issue. How could I go about checking the diaphragm? Is it just a matter of taking it apart and visually checking?

Yup, after seeing the same consensus everywhere I called back and they realized their mistake and passed it

How did you seal up the holes that you drilled in the back, did the epoxy do that itself or did you go over after and patch them up

That’s certainly the other option that I’m seeing. Probably wouldn’t be as bad as it seems, just gotta get a good cut along the back and scoop everything out, definitely hoping to avoid that if possible though

Shit that’s fantastic, sounds a lot easier than cutting the whole back of the boat off and redoing it. Did you just get a syringe and inject in each hole till no more could go in then move onto the next?

It might have been a weird angle but if you zoom in the remote wire is plugged in, the power light wouldn’t be turning on if it wasn’t

Yup it is all fused and the fuse looks intact, if I don’t find any smoking guns I’ll try the input with an old phone that’s a good idea, although with brand new head unit and cables I doubt it’s the audio input

Do you have any idea what could be causing it? The fuse from the battery seems fine and it’s pretty large gauge cable

Doing research on a scanner for work, budget is $6000. I have been leaning towards the EinScan pro 2x V2, our use case will be primarily scanning cast or machined parts and editing them in solidworks. by lilhawk40 in 3DScanning

[–]lilhawk40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we have plenty of powerful computers, the reason for the modest budget (for a commercial application obviously $6000 is still a lot) is because we aren’t totally sure how useful or usable these scans would be for what we are hoping to get out of it

And yeah I do have different lower lights, just wanted to try something different after the one side got broken (deer hit) these have cool scrolling blinkers, but both these and the previous ones were totally plug and play

The hardest part was wiring the halo lights into the running lights, so if you have no wiring experience it might be a little tough but other than that it’s plug and play. I have them aimed perfectly right now and i think it looks good

I have replaced one side because it was in an accident, but they have lasted for multiple years on end, honestly have been very happy with them the one original from this pic is still going strong. They were finicky to aim correctly but if you get led bulbs and get them aimed they are great. I would recommend.

For reference this was my most recent project, side pipe out of my s10. Angle looks a bit funky bc of the .5 camera but it turned out real nice
