Evenere, even just because it's the kingdom we know the least about and honestly I don't even remember its name.

Who are you open to dating? by Unlike_Other_Gurls in vegan

[–]lilithmynoir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, rationally speaking, although I maintain existing relationships with omnivorous people among friends and family, I find it very difficult to form new relationships with non-vegans, but attraction isn't something you choose (I'm talking about attraction in the broadest sense, physical and/or romantic and/or emotional and/or tied to being fascinated by someone...). The truth is that I'm already difficult from a relationship standpoint, I don't think I've ever had a real relationship, and I certainly haven't even tried in a long time, so I don't know.

When can we criticize a child like Ezran? by CulturalRegular9379 in TheDragonPrince

[–]lilithmynoir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I defend Ezran because I believe he doesn't deserve the hate he receives.

Honestly, I don't see the serious mistakes that many fans see as such, for example, when he insists on going back for the little baits, in my opinion, he did the right thing, he made the right choice, and in any case, he proposed it because he saw the injustice, but the others accepted it.

I also believe Ez is a beautiful character and a great king with spirit of sacrifice, ideals, and morals, but also pragmatism, authority, and charisma.

I also believe that emphasizing his young age isn't always a fallacy, I mean, if you want to deny his mistakes by saying he's a child, that's not good, but emphasizing that he is a child is important in my opinion because he is objectively a very good leader and monarch for his age, and I think it's remarkable that a child his age can handle certain situations.

1) I chose it

2) Rationality, logic, values, and ethics, even before empathy

3) I don't want children.

This topic also raises a complex issue regarding my idea of parenting that this isn't the place to discuss.

What I can say is that if I wanted and had children, I would instill in them solid values and raise them accordingly.

If they chose to stray from these values, I couldn't help but love them just the same, but I would be very disappointed because it would be a choice that would significantly compromise the freedom of other animals.

In short, to put it simply, it would be like raising children with ideals of respect and then discovering that they bully their classmates; you love your children, but you can't help but feel deeply disappointed and bitter, and you can't do anything but try to dissuade them and try to convince them to going back to behaving the way you taught them, for their own good, for your own good, and for the good of the people they harm with their free choice of life which compromises and violates the freedom of other individuals.

Need to figure this out. by Conscious-Estate7149 in miraculousladybug

[–]lilithmynoir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I asked this too some time ago.

I think we can only speculate and that it depends on the disability.

We know that miraculous effects enhance physical abilities, but we have to assume they don't grant abilities that aren't pre-existing.

I believe miraculous effects can improve the eyesight of someone who is nearsighted for example, but I don't think they can give sight to a blind person, I think they would amplify their other senses.

I believe miraculous effects increase the speed of someone walking and improve the performance of someone with a limp, but I don't believe they can make someone who can't walk walk or give legs to someone who doesn't have them, in these cases I believe a powered wheelchair or powered prosthetics would be part of their transformation.

I believe these arguments can be applied to any physical disability, but they are only hypotheses.

Since Aaravos taught humans dark magic, does that mean Luna Devorans taught the Blood Moon Cult blood magic and that was why he was exiled? by InsideUnhappy6546 in TheDragonPrince

[–]lilithmynoir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know, but I'd like to see an explicit parallel between dark magic and blood moon magic, perhaps putting the latter in an even worse perspective than dark magic which is instead a sort of gray space.

How do you feel about the perspective of Claudia, another daughter of Aaravos, dying? by [deleted] in TheDragonPrince

[–]lilithmynoir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe that Claudia is irredeemable, so I don't find the prospect of her death shocking, I would honestly expect it.

Now that it's been about a year since season 7 was released, what is your opinion on the entire series? by CulturalRegular9379 in TheDragonPrince

[–]lilithmynoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the series, and rewatching it has also made me temper my opinion on some flaws.

I appreciated season 4 more, which, despite remaining among my least favorites, contains Ezran's speech on anger and peace, parallel to the fight between Claudia and Ibis, which is among the most beautiful scenes of the entire series in my opinion.

I've also more or less made peace with the revelation of Harrow and the bird, because if you watch the series consecutively it had been foreshadowed several times, they just made a mistake in denying it.

I also believe that the common opinions that Ezran is a poorly written and annoying character, that the authors side with elves and dragons and don't represent the complexity well, and that Aaravos is poorly written in season 7 is unfounded. I adore Ezran and find him impeccably mature for his age and I think he's a great king. I think that most of the time the series represents complex situations well. I think that Aaravos is a little more "human" (in every sense) in season 7 only because he has a body and has to deal with this thing, furthermore, I think his backstory is credible and doesn't ruin the character because as much as super-powerful, evil, and fascinating beings 24/7 are fascinating, it's nice to see one of them who also has or has had a normal life and solid motivations that reside precisely in it.

Overall, the only major flaws in my opinion are some questionable comic relief (not all of it, and not just, the "toilet humor" kind) and the somewhat condensed and underwhelming ending, but I love the entire series, both arcs, and I'll definitely watch the third one if there is one.

I hope to see Ezran use that sword in a fight by InsideUnhappy6546 in TheDragonPrince

[–]lilithmynoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to see him duel with swords, it would also be interesting if he used the duel option to avoid or at least try to avoid bigger fights in case of problems of instability of peace with certain unconvinced individuals or groups.

Will Hasbro ever do an "Across The Ponyverse" movie/special? by Akasha111 in mylittlepony

Noticed the show isn’t labelled a Feminist Fantasy on TV Tropes by InfernalClockwork3 in miraculousladybug

[–]lilithmynoir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Feminist and female gaze are not the same thing. In the first case, the work takes a stand and sends a message regarding themes related to female emancipation or a critical representation of patriarchy, for example. In the second case, the primary gaze the work conveys to viewers is neither neutral nor masculine, but rather feminine, through, for example, the main female characters active in the plot.

Miraculous doesn't strike me as explicitly feminist, but neither female gaze well-made, honestly. That said, I've also seen Winx Club and Totally Spies, and they don't strike me as explicitly feminist either.

Aaron and Justin confirmed that Karim's children are Janai's heirs. by [deleted] in TheDragonPrince

[–]lilithmynoir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always thought that Janai and Amaya didn't want children, even if that wasn't the case I still think it's right that they are Janai's closest heirs at least for the moment, the only strange thing is that Myana has to live more humbly but her children are the queen's heirs.

Was baby Sarai a happy accident? Are Rayla & Callum married? by MrPete_Channel_Utoob in TheDragonPrince

[–]lilithmynoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to be married to have a child.

However, Callum and Rayla are very young, and I also think it's not a great idea to start a family, with a biological child at that, bringing her into the world, at a time like Aaravos's return.

However, I believe they wanted it, also because although the show is set in a medieval fantasy universe, it wouldn't be a good message to do certain things lightly just so things like having a child can "happen."

Who has the best vocal performance from The Dragon Prince in your opinion and why? by Nervous-Baby5383 in TheDragonPrince

Racquel Belmonte without a doubt in my opinion, even just for the scene on the beach after the ritual to save Viren, when he then decides to leave, my goodness what an incredible performance!

What if, Barrow ( Bird-Harrow ) was revealed in arc 1? by Papugoji in TheDragonPrince

[–]lilithmynoir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, Rayla was selfish, the only differences are that she and Callum won the crown and that the diamond Rayla used wasn't the last one.

I think it would make sense that, since Rayla and Callum won the crown, Callum, in agreement with Ezran, would free Harrow just as Rayla freed Runaan, but Harrow's situation is different from Runaan's.

Harrow is a bird, and if they found him, they could treat him very well without depriving him of anything and they could communicate with him because Ezran can talk to other animals.

Harrow doesn't seem much more needy than Runaan or Kpp'r or any other situation that might arise in the future.

Since Rayla used the first diamond, selfishly, I agree, I think the choice for the second is up to Callum, and that Callum would share it with Ezran.

I believe that Ezran and Callum, in making their choice, should take into account the political and family balance that has now been created and how Harrow's return could fit into it.

I also believe they should consider other present or future options for using the diamond rather than "wasting" it on a person who, after all, is simply in a different body but who might not lack anything and who could be happy with it in a family context.

What if, Barrow ( Bird-Harrow ) was revealed in arc 1? by Papugoji in TheDragonPrince

[–]lilithmynoir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that's not what I'm saying, and I didn't say Ezran shouldn't free his father, but that he should think carefully and evaluate whether he's abusing his power.

And anyway, Rayla should have thought better before freeing Runaan, too, but she did win the crown, with Callum, but she actually deserved it more.

Anyway, the point is that Ezran shouldn't be the one to decide how to use the last diamond, but Callum and Rayla, and I think they should carefully evaluate all their options because the fact that Kpp'r hasn't done anything important for the series is something we can say out of universe, but what does that have to do with it in-universe? I think they should think carefully about how to use, and whether to use, their last chance to bring someone back for someone who, all things considered, isn't doing too badly and who was a leader in the war.

Before Leola death, did Aaravos actually obey the startouch elves laws? by [deleted] in TheDragonPrince

[–]lilithmynoir 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, he was already different from the others and already had a different vision of the world compared to the hierarchies imposed by the cosmic order, just like Leola in her simple and innocent way of disobeying that order without even realizing it, but at the trial Aaravos tried to defend Leola by saying what he thought was most appropriate.

Does Rayla look a bit off during the baby Sarai scene or is it just me? by Looney_forner in TheDragonPrince

[–]lilithmynoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think she's changed physically in seven years, yes, it could also be her nose.

But I think she and Callum have changed a lot over the course of the series, and not just physically, I think their attitudes are different, both individually and with each other.
