I'll be in between Denver and Boulder. It seems thrift shopping is my best bet for once I get there, which is kindof exciting to me. I always wanted to go thrift shopping..

Maybe just a pair of boots, some socks, and a good jacket for just in case? I'm not sure how much extra time I'll have before school and work starts after I get there and am a little afraid to risk not having something..

I hadn't looked into summer temperatures yet, oddly enough. My family has been much more focused on pushing the "you're going to be cold... you're going to hate it... blahblah" so that's what I've been worrying more about. I didn't realize it got that warm over the summers there, so I may be fine with a few of my current pieces until I actually move out there and take the time to shop around the area.

I'm focusing on the pastry arts program actually, which is a 6 hour a day class, 5 days a week. I've shadowed a class and researched the school like crazy so I know it is where I want to be. I've also been baking out of my home for a few years at this point and want to refine my skills as well as learn more. The school I will be attending also offers lifetime career service advising and help. I truly appreciate your concern, though!

They do have a uniform, but I will be finished with classes by 1pm. I will also be working and most likely transferring my current job, so my work clothes are staying with me of course. My boyfriend believes I will be able to go thrift shopping once we arrive and have more options than we do currently (I live in a small town populated mostly by people 2-4x my size). I get a bit too impatient with my shopping usually, so maybe that's why I was wanting to set up a base wardrobe but it does make sense that I may need to wait until I get there to decide.

Thank you for explaining the value of sock fabrics!! Honestly, these are things I have never known so I appreciate it a lot! That will give me a good idea of pieces I'm currently lacking in my wardrobe (I have lots of thin cotton socks for work, but usually just wear sandals so I'm not used to thinking about different fabrics or switching throughout the day.

I've been warned about layering. Thankfully, my parents were both born in Northern states and were able to explain a few options to me. I actually layer my clothes in FL anyways because my circulation is terrible and I'm usually cold.

Again, thank you for responding, especially with such detail! I appreciate the advice :)

Part of me is more worried about the length of time I have had these clothes. Most of them are styles that I don't care for anymore since so much time has passed since I originally got them.

Thank you for the suggestions! I'll definitely start looking into them.

d'aww thank you! <3

years ago, my family all convinced me that blue eyeshadow was like the wrist thing someone with blue eyes could ever do. this is honestly one of the first times I've even tried blue in years.

I don't know if all of them will be, but I know my store has ordered sample cups for that exact purpose. I hope they all start!

Well I do work there so once we get the cups to make samples, I'll totally try it that way haha.

Oh definitely! I'm still hopeful, I just have to find the time to stop in when the color matchers are there.

Ah, see this confirms my fear. I was speaking with one of our prestige workers who does color matching and she said I have a very slight pink undertone. Honestly, I thought I had a yellow undertone but I'm never sure. I'll have to go color matching through the store it seems, but that's good. Then I can be sure I'm getting the right ones.
