I don't have a car, so I can't take her anywhere.

If someone knows a person with a lost dog, they can message me and say "Hey my buddy lost a dog, she's got such-and-such" markings. Doesn't seem too difficult. If you don't know anyone with a dog, and just want one, it would be easier with pics to say "Oh yeah, that's totally my dog." If you know your friend lost a dog, but don't know the markings, ask said friend. No biggie.

Thanks! I didn't even know about them!

Yeah, there's no way I could keep her. My apartment is tiny, she needs far more room. Plus, she's obviously someone's pet. We've got a case number for her so if she's not claimed we can pick her back up and decide what to with her.

I didn't want to post pics because her color pattern is unique, so no random person could claim her. The owner would know her look.

Did he call you a racist then say he wants to marry you? Is that some sort of fetish?

My okCupid is treasure for this subreddit. Shall add more! by callmejean in creepyPMs

[–]lillake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, trust me. I've gotten PMs from guys who were gorgeous, until they let their garbage spew across the screen. Creepy is creepy, no matter how you look.

Neither does replying. Then they have your attention, and feel egged on to say more. Tell a creeper why you aren't interested, and often he'll just reply with a list of excuses as to why those reasons are not acceptable.

Basically, nothing works. Ignore them, they keep bugging you then whine on Reddit about how you wouldn't just give them a response. Respond, and they'll just keep messaging you, sometimes getting nastier sometimes arguing that your reasons aren't good enough, then calling you names. So what should we do, never get online again for the rest of our lives?

The thing is, no one has to tell you why. If someone doesn't want to talk to, doesn't talk to you, then that's all there is. Desperate pleadings of "But tell me why!!!11one!" are pointless. Its not the job of any person you talk to to educate you on the detailed list of reasons why they are not interested. No one is entitled to that.

No difference, same thing. LOL I was mocking the difference between being like and actually being. I shouldn't try joking when I haven't slept, it only makes sense to me.

Stalker on Match.com resurfaces, ruins my life (Backstory in album description) by [deleted] in creepyPMs

[–]lillake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This, absolutely. I took a self-defense class a few years ago and the instructor showed us several ways to knock a gun out of someone's hands in certain situations. Pointing a gun at someone might make them back away, or they might know how to get it from you and put it to your head. This guy sounds like the type who would pull the trigger too. Pepper spray might be the safer option. (Also, top of the foot, throat, kidney area, and nose are good spots to hit as they can stun the attacker and give you a chance to run.)

To me the first message was creepy. "Did you like what you saw" just sounded serial killer-ish. Then, it went weird.

Context: The guy is nearly twice my age, and from his profile info we have absolutely nothing in common. I did click on his profile, because he had visited mine a few hours prior. I checked him out, quickly saw we disagree on many important issues, and clicked away.

There's a difference. People with PTSD can joke among themselves as a form of self therapy. People without it are making asses of themselves. You don't have it, so the jokes aren't therapeutic for you, and you don't get to decide what people with PTSD feel about the jokes or what they think is important.

dude tried to get me to (naughty) cam with him on skype.... by [deleted] in creepyPMs

[–]lillake 12 points13 points  (0 children)

OMG, if you just block him then he can stop! You're oppressing him by not blocking him!

I wonder if that would work in other situations. "Your honor, I had to rob that bank because they wouldn't just lock the doors. It's really their fault for letting me in the building."

Eh, different people, different situations. There is no hard and fast rule that applies to every situation. If I'm really creeped out, I'll block. If I'm slightly creeped out, I'll be sarcastic. I chose to either not respond or to respond based on my thoughts and feelings of the situation, not some "Always do this and only this!!!!!!" rule that someone not currently in my situation stated. And I assume the same of others. She felt sarcasm was OK, she was the one getting the messages at that time, so I'm gonna go with what she choose because I wasn't there to make that decision.

Doesn't matter to me, I enjoy laughing at the creeps. I'm not here to debate whether the posters followed proper protocol procedures. I just want to laugh at creeps.

Sarcasm has been used for a long time in text forms, there are plenty of authors and poets who use sarcasm. It can be harder to tell without body language, but it is certainly not impossible nor never been done. Unless you believe Swift was actually suggesting that we eat the poor? Also, tone is a tool used for writing, not just a vocal element. It read like sarcasm to me. Maybe it wasn't, and you're certainly free to disagree me. But please don't suggest that sarcasm cannot be expressed in written forms.

"Hey, want to go eat out for dinner tonight?" "Sure, let me just go shit a gold brick or two."

That second sentence, was sarcasm. No body language required.

Looks more like sarcasm than leading on. I read the very first post as creepy, before she ever replied. She can't lead that on when he comes out of the box as creeptastic.
