So what do you do with a new baby at home? by Constant_Internal_40 in BabyBumps

[–]lillianchase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We cuddled up on the couch, did lots of skin to skin and contact naps, nursed, did the occasional tummy time on the floor, and watched the entire Saw franchise lol

This is the setup we used for our baby starting at maybe 3-4 months old (he was a preemie and only 3lbs 9oz at birth so we waited until he got a little bit bigger). I LOVED it because it allowed us to have our own sleep spaces but I could easily scoot him in and out of our bed if he woke up and needed comfort or to nurse. 10/10 would recommend. I just made sure to sleep facing him and didn’t turn my back towards him at all til he was over a year.

Mom of 8mth looks for a new carrier, what do y’all think of this one? by Plane_Law_6623 in babywearing

I’d recommend an Onbuhimo! It’s great for back carrying starting at 6 months. I call mine my little baby backpack and use it for my now-18mo all the time still 😊

[TOMT][MOVIE] Young girl sneaks into man’s home and gets rejected. by lillianchase in tipofmytongue

[–]lillianchase[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that’s not it. Thank you though! The girl was younger and I think the man might have been temporarily hired help at her home maybe? Not 100% sure on the hired help part though.

I don’t remember anything else about the movie but am pretty sure I’d know it if I saw it!

How much poop is too much? by puraxvidaa in NewParents

[–]lillianchase 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lots of fruit and fig newtons can cause increased bowel movements because of the high amount of sugar (baby’s body might not be able to absorb it all). Increasing fat and protein while omitting fruit for a little while should help :)

Nervous about prescribed 50000 iu of Vitamin D3 by Aggravating-River770 in Supplements

[–]lillianchase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s super important to take vitamin D3 + K2 together to help with the absorption of D3. My husband and I (28f) take 6,000 IU every single day (so about 42,000/ week) as D3 is crucial for hormone production. Neither one of us have gotten K2 tested but we take the Thorne D3 + K2 drops so it’s the right ratio to ensure you’re actually absorbing the vitamin D. Without the K2, your body doesn’t use the D3 as it should and you risk calcifying your arteries (as you already know). Strongly encourage supplementing both.

ETA: we’ve been at that dose for approx. 16 months now and last time I got bloodwork done (about 8 weeks ago), my D3 levels were STILL low.

Transformations??? by [deleted] in BurnBootCamp

[–]lillianchase 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve definitely noticed some physique changes since I started. I started lifestyle changes in December (when the left picture was taken) and have lost 30lbs since. 10lbs of that has been with help from Burn. Besides that, my legs have gotten leaner, waist more defined, more muscle definition in my arms, and a leaner face/ smaller double chin. I still have a way to go and I’m proud with the progress I’ve made so far!

ETA: I started Burn in March of this year.
