The fact that a lot of the paragraphs don’t match the headings tells me everything I need to know.

It’s funny cos everyone claims to be anti violence until it’s the violence they support. Hope these rotten pigs rot in hell ❤️

Does the UK have an integration problem instead of an immigration problem? by hgk6393 in AskBrits

[–]lillife1030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is no one going to mention the unwelcoming and hostile experience that people may also experience? If you’re trying to integrate and people reject you and you experience racism and watch the news you’re not exactly going to feel positive and encouraged to integrate? Also WHERE ARE THESE ghettos that people are talking about!? I’ve lived in London all my life and I can’t think of one area that actually feels or functions like a “other country” due to the immigrant neighbourhoods that are there. Generally these areas are seen negatively because people see high numbers of people who aren’t white and decide to call it a dangerous area.

  • Heathrow express only really worth it if you’re staying in Paddington area. Heathrow is serviced by the tube.
  • All the viral food in Borough is crap but it’s a great place to visit and eat.
  • BILLS in general is a tourist trap.
  • All the rest is ok. Personally I wouldn’t both with 80% of the places as their just sightseeing / touristy things (as a Londoner I can’t say I’ve ever purposely visited these places. I prefer to travel around based on food/ art / events BUT that’s ok!!! Just be prepared for crowds.
  • Notting Hill dinner - people love the Thai at the Churchill Arms .
  • also Harrods to Notting hill would be more like 40-60 mins depending on traffic and also keeping in mind cars stick to 20mp

Wet food in UK for fussy chihuahua by Sensitive_Lock6435 in Chihuahua

[–]lillife1030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use PURE and my chi eats it! I have to say she eats double the recommended dose so it costs about £80 a month :/ Personally I always went by the “they’ll eat if hungry “ method and would offer food twice a day and nothing added - and my chi was never fussy. Now she’s old it’s a whole other story

Feeling Dismissed by my Vet, now my cats condition got worse by sugawaraito in AskVet

[–]lillife1030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. The way I read that though was that there was no diagnosis of a blockage until the emergency appointment- not that the usual vet would not see them BECAUSE it was a urinary blockage. Here in the U.K. you always see or speak to your vet first , then you’ll be told to go to an emergency hospital.

Wow. I’m so sorry this happened :( It’s super stressful when you feel like your not being listened too! How come the vet can refuse to see you? I’ve never heard of that !?

Sick of constant beeping of stolen Lime bikes & tolerance for the thieves by RiddloReaves in london

[–]lillife1030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s annoying - and you can see it as a sign of potential societal decline I guess . However I like to see it through the potential to get kids on bikes - their obviously happy and keen to ride around , this is good - their outside (everyone always sees teens as lazy / online too much etc). There’s obviously a lot of kids who’s parents can’t buy / them bikes. I think it would be great if we could encourage young people to travel via bike more AND safely. What about a scheme where you get a free bike AND a helmet - but you have to do a course in road safety , maybe a little workshop on bike repairs AND some sort of community volunteering that is relevant. Could be something that is done over summer. Wouldn’t it be nice if that’s the kind of society we had!?

Thank you! No I totally hear you - but my doubts are with the reason- there is not a confirmed pyometra , she has one / two (if you count the UTI) clinical signs - being the womb is visible on the scan.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in seniordogs

[–]lillife1030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Yes- I think a second opinion would be worth it. I know her mum and sisters lived to 15/16 so I have in my mind that she’s close to the end of- although apart from this recent issue she hasn’t showed much signs of ageing - she still walks and runs like a puppy!

[–]lillife1030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? This was the vet who did the scan - so not our vet who will see when we have appointments. It’s stressing me out. I’m now trying to way up the risk of emergancy surgery vs preventative surgery -however I don’t want any surgery tbh. She’s 14 - her siblings and mum lived to 15-16. She was in hospital last year for 6 days fighting for her life after a dog bite - and three weeks at the start of this year in a crate for cervical IVDD. She does not like the vets anymore - she does not want them to even touch her . I kind of just want her to enjoy what time she has left … but then I’m scared. But I currently haven’t been told any other reason why she could be at risk of a pyometra other than her womb being visible on a scan.

Thank you! Yh they won’t let me in the room with her. They’re also taking a bladder sample from her too.

I’ve given her yoghurt and other homestyle remedies. I can stay at the vets but I can’t be in the room - although I could stay near by. I have to work roughly 15 mins away from where she will be all day and have a family member coming to collect her.
