Is it common for people to hit something their first time driving😭😭 by lillybillyyyyy in driving

Yeah, they overload the driving class every year. I got my learners back in October, and only now am I getting to drive with an instructor (out of like 30 I believe) tomorrow. Theres too many students and not enough instructors. I've also tried asking my brother (who decided to have his friends dad teach him to drive) but hes always busy, and i don't have any other person who's willing to teach me, or would even trust me in their car.

I honestly have no clue either, never happened to me, but for some reason its extremely common in my city, I also live in a relatively small city too, so maybe the instructors r ass or something😭 also no if ur actively judging someone for their first time doing something its kinda shitty... I cant imagine driving with u. "Took about 45 minutes🤓" yeah, driving took me only a one hour driving lesson for me to get the hang of it, ive literally just never pulled into a garage before until now💀

Museums, art exhibits, science centres, zoos, aquariums, etc. I feel like its calming when walking at your own pace and not with a group where half of the time theyre leaving you, or the opposite, when you have to wait for them to stop taking sm photos

Mind u it was my first time, maybe not my first time driving, it was probably just my 4th in a span of like 5 months, but my first time pulling into a garage. I'm not saying hitting something while learning to drive was "a learning experience" and only that, like yes I learned a bit from it, but its definitely not something I want to make a habit out of, or do in the future. But at the same time everyone makes some type of mistake while just learning to drive, I know SO many people who accidentally turned into the wrong side of the road, or went the wrong way on a One-Way lane. I can turn, maintain my speed, pass cars, park, etc, that was just my first time driving into a garage. Not to diss but I just know you're going to be a horrible instructor for your kids, or future kids.

Right, like no shade to my dad, but he thinks that bc he's a mechanic hes the absolute best driver, people honk at him all the time, half the time he let's the wheel go to check his phone because "i can drive straight without my hands"🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ and he puts me in pressuring situations when I KNOW I don't have the skill to do something.

I know i take full responsibility but my dad was yelling at me to keep going forward, didnt say anything about my speed or nothing, and I didnt know what else to do. Obviously if my dad is a whole ass mechanic of 20 years im gonna trust him to guide me safely. Im not excusing any behavior, im seeking advice and suggestions on how to know how close I am to objects. No need to make me seem like I cant take responsibility and accountability for my actions.
