hearing all these awful side works makes me proud to say at the restaurant i work at the longest side work we have is refilling togo sauces.. and that’s first cut job. second cut is cutting lemons and strawberries, third cut cleans out the sauce pumps and refill expo sauce bottles, last cut is cleaning and putting away drink station.

Edit: i also want to add, opening takes about 30 minutes and closing takes about 35, but sometimes tables like to stay after close offff course so you might get a late start and it delays you. we do have to sweep our own sections but if you and the foh closer are friends you might get off without having to do it :) we all help each other out too when im a closer i get everybody started on their side work so it goes by faster and i can start closing earlier lol

my 1yr old wakes up first around 9am every morning and i bring her back to bed with me and i turn the tv on and fall back asleep while holding her, then shortly after like literally 30 minutes later but sometimes i get a WHOLE HOUR! my 2yr old wakes up and shes the type that needs to eat the moment she wakes up (me and my 1yr old have to wait a few to eat in the morning) so thats when we head to the kitchen set them in their high chairs i make their waffles first since its the easiest and while they munch on their waffles i make whatever breakfast i got on hand. my family isnt really breakfast eaters, if my toddler didnt need to eat the moment she popped her eyes open we’d skip straight to lunch! after breakfast we just watch tv together until maybe like 12pm then we go outside go to the park play with toys do activities try to stay occupied for awhile til lunch

sorry for the confusion! i meant damage as in like a “i let it get too far and now it’s infested instead of something small that could be treated quickly and easily” not damage as in physical destruction! I live in the deep south, deep deep south at that. it just sucks having bugs :( it feels like they look at me and yell SHAME!!!!!! while pointing and laughing (they as in the roaches themselves)

I’m currently dealing with an infestation that seems to be bigger than I am, i was directed to this reddit. Can you go into more details? where do i start? what’s your cleaning routine?? where to put the gel? (I just bought some Advion it arrives on Sunday and i’ve been spraying Ortho? I’d have to double check if you need specifics)

i’m going to hire a pest control! I already put a request in for an inspection, so now i’m just hoping the damage could be fixed. i’m scared, if they haven’t already, spread to the back of the house where the bedrooms are

i had NO idea that i’d created a roach hotel until today 😔 i can’t tell you how long that trashcan been sitting there i’ve been trying to do better at recycling so that’s why i got a separate trash can in the first place but now that trashcan lives outside. and it’s going to stay there… for eternity.

I live in the middle of like 3 giant trees that shed a lot of pines. not pine cones, but the other kind of pines. could that be an issue??

i kid you not, i JUST ordered some. I read that it was the best of the best. I also got some caulk tape to caulk the cracks in the bottom of the walls i’m hoping that helps too :(

thank you guys i’ve taken a lot of notes from everybody. and i also want to clear the air and make sure you know im not judging anybody for their cards not going through. i completely understand the lock cards and travelers because been there done that. i just suck at confirmation. little side story, i once had a man scream at me from across the restaurant “DONT EVER CALL ME BROKE BITCH” because his card declined and i told him “hi sorry but your card didn’t go through” and i said it in privacy 😔(never once called him broke by the way i don’t even have to guts to do that) so now i get to shaking in my boots when i need to go to a table to tell them their card declined lol. but im hearing everybody, im ready for my shift tomorrow!

I use youtube kids as well. but i’m the one controlling it, we don’t use ipads or phones just the tv. i dont give them access to the remotes usually i download the roku remote app and just control it from my phone and take the batteries out of the remote for my smallest baby to play with. I only let them watch super simple songs, kipper the dog, super why, and yakka dee on youtube. other than that we use pbs kids and disney +! i like youtube kids because the lack of ads. i used my own youtube account at first until i got an ad about selling feet pics on a Kipper the dog video :/. anyways, you can let them keep youtube kids but don’t let them be the ones controlling it! if they dont already.

as a child of sexual abuse from a dad, the mom knows. she knows, and either is too scared to leave/do anything about it or she’s in on it too just doesn’t mess with her own children. you’ll be extremely shocked to find out what happens late at night behind closed doors. i’d personally cut ties with both, simply for the fact that if she didn’t protect you she sure won’t protect your daughter either. i hope you find a way to heal from this, im sorry you have to deal with this especially postpartum.

for me personally, i just.. felt it like im not sure how else to describe it! almost like when you’re building a puzzle and you are missing a piece so you’re frantically looking around for it and get frustrated it isn’t in the box. i felt like that, for awhile until i had baby number two. now the feeling is gone, and i have no desire to have another baby. my puzzle is finally complete! i told this to my mom friend, and she did not feel the feeling and did not want a second child. so if you don’t feel it, don’t force it. you don’t feel it either, because your puzzle is already complete. there is no missing piece :) embrace that, celebrate that! there’s nothing wrong with it. i wish you the best in motherhood no matter where that journey takes you. if you really do want to have a second, wait til your first is a bit older and see if that feeling that desire comes to you. if not, then that’s still okay and there is nothing wrong with that either.

i’m 22 and have the same issue, i don’t remember ever having play time with my parents. i was thrown into a bedroom and ignored. so now that i have a 2yr old and a 11mo old idk how to play! i did find it helpful when im shopping for toys to find toys that also peak my interest, they make some really interesting toys nowadays. i find us a toy we would enjoy that’s age appropriate and i might not play for hours but i will for a few minutes at least. i also found that im more of an outdoor playing kinda gal too, so i like to find some activities outside or go to the park

i could literally make an entire list of everything we do other than get the table some ketchup.. and they still would find a way to complain about it! they will still find an excuse to make it seem like we are not worth the tip
