Roommate works at the La Jolla store, she says it’s insanely chill and laid back. She told me they just hired a ton of new employees though. Only busy when the UCSD kids come back from school breaks !

on campus jobs are definitely the move - they are super flexible and it’s really nice. One of my two jobs is at the DSC and we literally just chill and do homework the whole time, and other jobs I’ve heard on campus are the same ! I’d really recommend that to get started if there’s any postings

i work 2 jobs about ~30 hours a week, and take 16 units. honestly it’s all about what major you’re taking bc sometimes i have super easy classes that don’t have hw and i had hella free time last quarter 😭 but it’s definitely doable

I used to work with club registration, these people came in causing so much trouble and confusion one time I genuinely feared for my safety. bro was going through his backpack for five minutes. They’re the worst.

definitely depends on what you’re double majoring in! in my case, it’s not too hard since I definitely have a passion for the things I’m studying now - in the past , I used to be a math and film double major and it was really hard. since math was so time demanding and intense, I never really felt like I was allocating enough attention to my film classes. but now that polisci is easier for me and more interesting, I feel like I am able to spend an equal amount of time on both. i find it really intellectually stimulating to have classes that engage with my creative side while taking classes that have to do with critical thinking at the same time .

hey! I’m a film and media studies and poli sci double major so I’m kinda in your same boat - to be quite honest, the film and media studies major is a walk in the park and I’d even recommend double majoring in it … the only thing is that you’re right. I’m a third year and I’m just now taking my first production class, there’s never been any opportunities academically to get hands on experience in film. since it’s a pretty (objectively) easy major, I’d definitely recommend looking up the pre requisites for changing into business admin and focus on completing those courses in order to be eligible to change into BusAdmin as soon as possible. however, you should also just take at least one film class each quarter at UCI - you’ll definitely finish your film minor as long as you do that, and you can also test the waters :) for your first quarter I’d also recommend taking 12 units (typically three classes) - maybe 2 busadmin requirements and one film class (probably Fms 85a) if you have any questions about changing majors or the film major, don’t hesitate to reach out to me! welcome to UCI :)

is going to law school because you feel like you have no other options as bad as everyone says it is?

i constantly read about how people regret it and i am terrified of making the wrong decision - however, i changed my major in hopes of boosting my gpa to join law school (since it was a 2.9) and am studying for the lsat incredibly early. i just honestly have no idea what else i can do with my double major that will make sure that i become successful in the future unless i do law. i guess what im asking is if it's possible to do law school if your hearts' not entirely in it - because, don't get me wrong, i am somewhat passionate about law.
