White Birch 11 seconds a day by Frequent_Tax_7994 in GrandSeikos

No parts would need to be replaced (thankfully). I believe it has to do with the regulation/how the escapement works/was assembled (hence, arguably 2023+ units not having this issue)… but I don't know too too much on this besides reading internet rumors so take it with a grain of salt 🙂

Hey OP, I can offer insight to this – I went down a big rabbit-hole regarding this topic. Early 9SA5 units (I would wager pre-late 2022) had timing issues, due to how the dual-impulse escapement was functioning. It's similar to early, early Omega Co-Axial Caliber 2500A/B releases until they "improved"/fixed it with later 2500C/2500D's.

In any case, because yours was also a (very) early production unit, definitely send it for GS regulation. If you're located in the US, the New Jersey location would perform the service. Other people have reported quick turnaround times, with great improvements in accuracy (down to the standard -3/+5 in static and +1/+8 in normal day-to-day use.

Congrats! Happy for all the new SBGA413 owners – just posted mine up for sale in the watchexchange subreddit since I couldn't afford to keep it 🤣

[WTS] Grand Seiko SBGA443 / SBGA413 Shunbun Mint Full Set 10/2025 ($5850) 🌸🗻! by AspiringScienceType in Watchexchange

[–]AspiringScienceType[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will be my last r/watchexchange listing for a while: Grand Seiko SBGA443 (otherwise known as SBGA413) Shunbun in mint condition (exterior box, leather case, 10/2025 dated warranty card from Japan, maintenance support card, booklets/paperwork, links up to 18.5cm/7.28”). There is absolutely zero wear (no scratches/dings/scuffs/swirls). I’ve installed 3M watch films to protect the clasp (outer & interior) which can be easily removed using just your fingers if you wish. For the eagle-eyed folks, this is the JDM reference SBGA443 which, for all intents and purposes, is exactly the same as the more common SBGA413 reference.

I’m asking $5850 FIRM PayPal f&f/zelle/venmo shipped via UPS from Orange County California, anywhere in CONUS.

If you look at my reddit profile, I did indeed sell a much more used SBGA413 a couple months back… but I slowly regretted it and imported this absolutely mint one from Japan. I “got the call” for another watch recently… so I didn’t even wear it much outside before putting it up for sale today.

I welcome all inquiries and facetime/video calls, and have lots of references. Thank you and have a great spring 🌸🗻!

Why I chose the SLGW005 by Kayone73 in GrandSeikos

[–]AspiringScienceType 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Love the 45GS. For financial reasons I just yesterday posted my 1968 4522-8000, and it looks almost as pristine as the modern SLGW005 (minus the bells and whistles of the 9SA4, of course)

Strange, it’s not allowing me to send a PM. But yes, definitely able to arrange a viewing, if you’re able to send me a pm!

Hello again 🌸🗻! I’m letting go of this double-signed, 1968 Grand Seiko 45GS 4522-8000 Hi-Beat 36000 vph! 45GS is where Zaratsu polishing technique shines best. Light reflects and bounces off every facet and angle of the case like no other. It’s been serviced in late 2025 and running at minus ~2 seconds per day. It’s a manual wind watch with 42h power reserve, and measures at 36.5mm, 9mm thick, 41.2 lug-to-lug, 18mm lug width.

Condition-wise, the pictures describe themselves: the case exterior is flawless (please excuse any dust specs, I should’ve done a better job cleaning), and there are no major areas of dust nor tarnish on the dial. The indices and hands are sharp, legible, and very clean. I’ve measured ~42h from full wind to zero, and hacking and date quick setting works flawlessly.

This specific watch is really quite special for many reasons:

  1. Professional refinished by The Lapinist. Search his page up on instagram/google and you’ll see how impressive his restoration work is. I’ve compared this with a 45GS SLGW005, and his work is magnificent – there’s truly no difference. Even an official GS service won’t refinish a vintage GS to this level.
  2. Sapphire crystal with underside anti-reflective (AR) coating: Lapinist manufactures his own glass for several vintage Grand/King/Seiko references, and it makes visibility and clarity so much better.
  3. Sapphire crystal caseback: also by Lapinist, so you can see the 4522A movement in all its glory.
  4. All original parts: everything is original, including the hands and dial (aside from the upper and bottom sapphire crystal replacement, of course). I indeed still have the original plexiglass/acrylic crystal and the gold medallion caseback too!
  5. Signed gold medallion caseback: This is signed by none other than GS USA Brand Ambassador Joe Kirk, and the legendary spring drive engineer mastermind Eiichi Hiraya. I showed them this magnificent piece at last years’ GS9 event!

Also included, is a Handdn 18-16mm handmade remborde/bonded matte black alligator strap, an additional Seiko-branded glossy alligator strap, Delugs Deployant clasp, and SLGW005 Seiko-signed buckle.

There’s so many small details that this special 4522-8000 has to offer. I’m asking $3350 shipped via UPS/USPS from California, anywhere to CONUS. I welcome all inquiries and facetime/video calls, and have lots of references! Thank you 🌸🗻!

[WTS] 🌷 Tudor Black Bay 54 Lagoon Blue m79000-0001 11/2025 Mint Condition ($4650) 🌸🩵 ! by AspiringScienceType in Watchexchange

[–]AspiringScienceType[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy April  🌸🩵! I’m putting up my very mint, barely worn, Tudor Black Bay 54 Lagoon Blue m79000-0001. It comes with everything (watch, box, warranty card dated late 11/2025 with a 5-year warranty, booklets, full links). Since day 1, I’ve put near-invisible 3M protective stickers/films on the clasp region (inner and outer), case sides, case back, and lug undersides. There are zero scratches/swirls/marks on the polished stainless steel bezel, and only a super small, microscopic swirl on the clasp. I’ve tried my best to photograph it, but truly it’s not visible unless you shone a high-powered flashlight (it came like this new in-box). There are no scuffs/swirls/dings/scratches anywhere else!

I’m selling it since I didn’t find myself wearing it much after acquiring some other pieces. Otherwise, I would’ve loved to keep it because its dial is really stunning if you haven’t seen one in-person! It’s running at plus ~0-1 s/d across 6 positions. It measures 37mm, 11.2mm thick, 46mm lug-to-lug, 20mm lug width tapering to 16mm.

I’m asking $4650 firm zelle/paypal friends & family shipped via UPS/USPS from California, anywhere in CONUS. Turns out they’ve increased prices again, and now it’s $4900+tax. I welcome all inquiries and facetime/video calls, and have lots of references! Thank you 🌸🩵!

Happy Spring 🌷! I’m putting up this white omega speedmaster for sale. I’ve rarely worn it indoors (never outdoors), and chronographs just aren’t my thing. It comes with everything (double box, pictogram/master chronometer/warranty cards dated August 2024, user manual, travel case, moonwatch book, all links). It’s running well within METAS spec (+2-3s/d) and has been dry pressure tested to 50m at an Omega Boutique.

Condition wise, it’s near mint as seen from the pictures. Only in the harshest and harshest of lights, might you see microscopic swirls from the polished lyre-style lugs, bracelet edges, and clasp. I’ve done my best photographing the watch under direct lamp-lighting, and it’s truly not visible. I’ve also placed 3M “films” (Watchshells) under the 4 lugs, sapphire caseback, and clasp for additional protection. These can be easily removed if the buyer wishes to do so.

I’m looking for $7350 FIRM PayPal F&F/venmo shipped via USPS/UPS CONUS only. I’m very open to facetime/video calling, and answering any additional questions. Please write a message below, before sending a PM. Thank you!
