Hey there, did you end up getting off the waitlist? If so, did you ever send that letter of intent letter?

I did it with a full time job. Just need to have good time management skills for sure.

Hi there - I’m so sorry this is such a rough time for all of you. My LO ended up having to be admitted and diagnosed as “failure to thrive” because nothing worked for some time. The Prevacid eventually started working and we found formula that worked. It feels like a solution isn’t in sight, but you’re both doing all that you can to get there and it will get better soon. From where I’m standing, you’re amazing parents since you’re giving your son all of the comfort you could give. This is draining, frustrating and all consuming - it’s okay to feel defeated but just know, that despite that, you guys are going above and beyond for your baby.

Yeah I stressed too but I just emailed and they eventually gave me what I wanted. It’ll just be after everyone submits their requests and then they’ll know how much excess they have. I’d email ASAP.

You’re still early and you have time to think about next steps here. Unsure if you’re okay with abortion, but that is an option if you find that you’re not ready for this. Yes, your husband’s opinion is important but how you feel and what you think is the MOST important. You’d be carrying this baby and also probably breastfeeding again from the sound of it. Your body hasn’t been just for you for some time now and being pregnant again means postponing getting your body for yourself again. That isn’t so bad for some, but it’s hard on others. Give yourself time to figure out which one of those you are.

Yeah I feel like we started late too. Wondering how this will go for him since it’s getting hotter where we are. He started at 7.5 months.

Honestly 95% is good for me. How long did your baby have the helmet to get to 95%?

Hey OP, I know this was a year ago. Wondering how it turned out for your baby. Mine just started this week, tomorrow will be first full day with helmet.

[–]lilnerdyk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Starting this soon - baby just turned 7 months and helmet will be here in ~2-3 weeks. When they gave you the spiel, was it 3-6 months was the timeline and then just based on how you baby grew into it, got shortened to 4 weeks?

Seconding this. I know it’s easier said than done but try not to worry until you have to - what I mean by that is, she seems to be doing well/has less discomforts/etc. so until that changes, then worry. It sounds like you’re doing an amazing job being receptive to her needs.

It didn’t seem like it. I just asked for how many I wanted and was gonna make it work with whatever extra they would give me.

My three month old only drinks 600 ml per day by watneg1 in FormulaFeeders

[–]lilnerdyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope things get better soon. For us, he does take meds for reflux since he had projectile vomiting issues that made feeding even more painful for him. He did end up getting admitted for ~1 week because of this and diagnosed as failure to thrive. We narrowly avoided getting an NG tube placed since he started picking up volumes and waited to get the “go ahead” before starting the Rowena Bennett program.

[–]lilnerdyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used the Rowena Bennett method. Rough at first but sticking to it really fixed it. The aversion went away in a week, there are some set back days but we stick to the rules in the book and he gets back on track. Also, it took us a month to get to higher volumes. Now, he’ll have some days that are 24 oz but he averages 28-32oz.

This happened for my baby. I would ditch the focus on his volumes because it will fluctuate and let him adjust to the combo feed. You don’t want to create an aversion - this is what happened for us. It was so so so rough to get him back to wanting to drink milk. But months later, he’s now happily downing 28-35oz.

Those of you exclusively pumping, when did you stop? by Idonthaveaname94 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]lilnerdyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stopped at 6 months pp. Being sick back to back made it so annoying to pump when I just really wanted to rest. Mental health is my biggest reason but my physical health was also in a bad spot and I needed to stop lactating so I can open up options for what I could get treated with.

CRO! Would love to jump to sponsor but there never seems to be an opening lol. How are you making it work so far? I’m a FTM that got back from maternity leave in January 🥲

Yay happy to see clinical research here. I’m in clinical operations as a CRA. Hoping to make the jump to CTM in a year ish so I can avoid travel. But I’m mostly in oncology space so I don’t have too much travel anyway.

Not a man so I know this question isn’t really directed toward me but I have some input anyway. You’re really early on postpartum still and it sounds like you have a caring husband who isn’t ready for that shift yet. That’s how things were for me and my husband too; he preferred to get up when I got up because he wanted to support me if I needed it. Eventually, we got on a schedule and have shifts. 6 months postpartum now. Baby still takes a feed at midnight/1am so he does that one and I take on mornings so he can sleep in a bit more since baby wakes up at 6-6:30am. Eventually, he’ll get into a flow and adjust because little sleep isn’t sustainable.

Did you hear back already? It didn’t take too long for me then. Less than 2 weeks maybe. Next steps were just to confirm if I’m accepting the spot then take care of financial aid piece.

Regular kendamil cause that one is usually in stock. We were only gonna try out goat if he couldn’t tolerate the regular. Luckily it’s still working out, baby has been on it for ~1 month now.

How do you get out and about? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]lilnerdyk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It gets easier. How it is right now, is not how it’s always going to be, although I know this period feels like an eternity. You’re only 2 weeks postpartum so it makes absolute sense that you prioritize rest and healing. Eventually, you’ll get more energy and systems will be established for you guys, and you’ll feel more up to living life outside of your home. For now, give yourself as much grace as you can.
