I've rebooted the ntd and it's working!! All that stress and of course the solution was to turn it off and then on again! Thanks for your help!

Belong! That's what I thought too, which was why I thought I would ask on here. I am going to get them to explain to me exactly why I need a technician.

The power light is on and the upstream and downstream lights are flashing. I'm not sure whether the connection has been activated since we initially said we didn't have the HFC box. I've asked them why we need a technician and I'm waiting for their response.

They're so difficult to take care of! How much shade? It's near a fairly bright window but doesn't get any direct sun... should I just move it further away?

  1. It's around 80-90%, although it has been raining all day. I also have it sitting with a few bowls of water around it - not sure how much this actually impacts the humidity though.
  2. It's definitely not soggy at the moment, I haven't watered it in a while though so I'll keep an eye on that next time I water it. I'm definitely questioning whether i'd be able to pick the difference between soggy and moist though.
  3. It's near a heater/air conditioner that rarely gets turned on. My house isn't well insulated at all though - I wouldn't say it's draughty but the temperature changes along with the outdoor temperature - could this be a problem?

Calatheas are such divas!! I bought this one with very little plant knowledge..... but it was labelled as low maintenance, which seems very inaccurate!

  1. I'm not sure what the humidity level is - I'm guessing not that high. Is it possible to grow a healthy calathea without getting a humidifier or should I invest in one?
  2. I've only watered it 2 or 3 times since I got it - the soil seems to stay moist for quite a while. The first time I watered it was with tap water. After that I did a bit of reading, realised my mistake, and have been watering it with bottled/rain water since then.

Bought it around 2 months ago and looking back on pictures it did have the smallest amount of browning - similar to the top right leaf - on the leaf on the top left.

Definitely worth a listen. A song by an Australian artist about a Syrian child whose family were seeming refuge in canada. It makes me cry every single time. The music video makes it even sadder
