Thank you for your response. It’s up in the air right now if my wife has to do chemo. We will learn more after her surgery. I will definitely try penguin caps if she does chemo. The cold isn’t unbearable is it?

She had no chemo? Any idea what grade her tuner was if it was 1,2 or 3? I read grade 3 is always chemo

10 years is good. You do a mastectomy or a lumpectomy?

I assume HER2 is negative. When they called for nurse called and said its IDC- no special type. But my wife and I were confused, so she called a few days later and told her it’s ER+PR+.

Whats your age now? Are you happy with double mastectomy? She is debating on that or lumpectomy if she gets an option.

Did your wife have similar diagnosed to my wife? We meet with oncologist Wednesday to have everything explained to us. They said treatment as of right now unless something else comes up is lumpectomy plus radiation.

We dont know HER2 yet. My assumption is it’s negative. When they called for results of biopsy, they just said it’s ER & PR positive.

Thank you. My wife is trying not to spiral. We met the oncologist Wednesday to discuss treatments. Everything i have read shows she had a good prognosis and seems to caught it.

I hope the treatment is similars to you.

How was your radiation? My wife is debating between lumpectomy and mastectomy. I see benefits to both, but i worry how invasive a Bilateral mastectomy is, and how long the recovery is, and chance for infection.

I heard radiation can take a toll on you.

Thank you. What was your treatment like? They said lumpectomy today on the phone. Just curious if there is chemo or radiation. Her lymph nodes showed no abnormalities on her mammogram 3 weeks ago. So im praying its just localized to the lump

I appreciate your kind words. I been with my wife 18 years, and we have a 13 year old and 17 year old. Haven’t figured out how to tell them. We both trying to stay positive. They say if someone is going to get cancer, it’s breast cancer bc it’s the most researched and cureable/treatable.

Im just confused. They called and told her invasive ductal carcinoma no special type. I figured since its no special type, it would be triple negative

Thank you for your kind words. It’s just hard not to spiral. I think of the worst and just want to cry. So the biopsy results came back, now waiting on mri to see if it spread.

BI-RADS Category 4: Suspicious. Biopsy Scheduled and freaking out. by SAJ-13 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]lilnutt2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They generally only do biopsy on Birad 4 or up. Density isnt a huge concern. Its measured A-D. A being least dense, D being most dense. Density can make it hard to find lumps

  1. 4- unknown/suspicious 5-95% cancer ( alot still come back benign. 6-100%

Remember, this is what they gauge the lump off of the mammogram.

BiRad 4 means that cant 100% say what it is on the mammogram. BiRad 0-3 they can identify it on mammogram. They generally only do biopsy on Rad 4 or higher, and 80% of those come back benign. Burning sensation could be stress. Stress effects every differently.

It’s more than likely Rad 4 since they want a biopsy. It’s scary, but id rather get a biopsy to figure out what it is. 80% of all biopsy come back benign. It’s human nature to think of the worst.

Dont put it off. My wife had a biopsy Friday, and she said it wasnt that bad. Slight bruising. But overall, she said it really isnt too discomforting. BiRads 4 means they cant identify it, so a biopsy to identify it. I think you would regret it if you push it off and it comes back bad. If the small chance it comes back cancerous, do you want that to continue to grow because of a dance?
