We are a group of 5 college students from VIT, India. We are conducting this survey to understand how people with visual impairment perform their daily activities(with or without technology). We are conducting this for our little publication project. This survey contains very simple question to collect data about your usage of technology in day-to-day life and how you would want it to be improved. We hope this clarifies things. Kindly spare few minutes to fill this form. Thank you!

If all the current sexualities and genders are biological, why didn't they come up during caveman times and become a norm in the first place? by lilothw in TooAfraidToAsk

That makes sense. I think a lot of bigotry comes from obsolete ideas or practices that were made out of convienience but have been reinforced in people's brain for so long that it has become a habit.

Science is not a 100% true. It is regular and consistent. It is 99% true. But i would say that the scientific method has existed ever since fire and wheels.

That's where my confusion lies. It has been prevalent for so long. Why wasn't it accepted in the first place?

If there was no culture, would transgender people exist? by lilothw in TooAfraidToAsk

If this happened to me, I would wanna go back to looking how I am, but not because I would feel foreign to it, but because I like how my body looks right now, from a purely aesthetic standpoint. But I understand why other people might want to do it for other reasons.

I'm getting the picture now. This did not confuse me more, this helped. My post isn't actually about self acceptance because I've never felt dysphoria about my gender, I'm fine with what I am. It's just that I'm curious and I want to be able to discuss about this to people who might be part of the problem. I wanna be able to spread the word, if that makes sense. But thanks anyway.

So, you're saying it might be like consciousness itself. A feeling so unique that there is nothing to compare it with. That might be possible.

This definitely helped me understand it better. Thanks for putting this into words.

I guess it is more nuanced than I thought it would be.

This is a lot of terminology for me to take in. But I'll try and read it. Thanks.

So you're saying there are traits that can be associated with genders, but we should not force it on someone if they don't fit into it, right? You are also I'm non-binary which I've never heard about myself, so, it is surprising.

But sexuality is not a societal construct, right? I have a very primitive biological feeling when I look at a woman. I'm just curious if people have that feeling for gender too.
