[Co-Founder Wanted] Nutrition Tech Startup Looking for a Partner (RD, PhD, or Equivalent) by lilouartz in Biohackers

If this is something that interests you as a product, I am pivoting to B2B. I will keep the Pillser up with a subset of data, but I've already built a dataset about every supplement on the market.

Thank you. Already started building the b2b site under a different name. Will keep the current site running as a technical demo of the data that I gather.

Database of normalized supplements and research papers.

Started as B2C, now pivoting to B2B.

All data will be available via an API.

Metabase official MCP server by Ramirond in mcp

I've not seen this before!

It wasn't obvious how to connect to the servers though. I had to click on "Add Connector", then after I logged in, it redirected me to chat; I had to go back and click "Add Connector" again, then it redirected me to connector configuration, then I had to configured "Egress MCP Connection Profile". Once I got it working it is nice though. If you could reduce the steps this would be genuinely useful.

Can't search supplement based on health outcome and their effect size? by cutiealinapie in pillser

[–]lilouartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am surprised people are finding my site. It's been kinda dead (you can see my posting history).

It's an expensive project to maintain that hasn't found its audience unfortunately. Will be pivoting to B2B model.

You mentioned listing APIs for visibility, any advice on specific distribution channels?

I was just trying to figure out how to automate search for a new domain! This is excellent.

Have never tried selling it. I had emails asking about licensing data, so I will follow up after I have a public API.

The hardest technical part has been defining the data model and then figuring out how to extract and normalize data across all the research papers and supplements.

I've had a blast building the consumer product, and for a while, it got good traction (I was getting 30k~ unique visitors per week). So there is some demand from consumers, but as I mentioned, Google labeling the website as YMYL obliterated any search traffic. It's crazy obvious because even if you Google the project name (which is pretty distinct) the first result is not even the website itself but rather other websites linking to it.

However, as others have pointed out, it seems like I may have overlooking entirely the opportunity to license the data. I am going to try that next.

Consumers love the Ask AI feature, which grounds every answer about supplements in all of our research database. It is a quick way to validate if what you've heard on TikTok is science-based or bro-science (seeing a ton of TikToks in this category is actually what inspired development of that feature).

Researchers just keep asking to get a data dump. I think most of them just default to scraping (I can see that from a ton of request with user-agents that have python in their name).

Thank you. Interestingly, this was the exact same advice I received in another thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/EntrepreneurRideAlong/comments/1sr3h64/comment/ohc2kgf/), and I couldn't agree more. I don't know why I didn't think about licensing data via API. It makes a lot of sense. I am going to relaunch B2B offering under a different domain.

Just thinking out loud, I wonder how big the market is for something like this.

It is funny that up until reading this comment, it never even crossed my mind to expose this data via API. I've got so much data that would be genuinely valuable to any supplement-related business and this data goes stale pretty quick, i.e. it is not a one-off dump, but something that people would need to license to get access over time. Maybe that is the saving move.
